The Columbine High School massacre (often known simply as Columbine) was a school shooting which occurred on April 20, 1999 at Columbine High School in Columbine, an unincorporated area of Jefferson County within the American State of Colorado. In the school shooting, two senior students named Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold
murdered a total of 12 students and one teacher. They also injured 21
further students, with three other people being injured while attempting
to escape the school. The pair then committed suicide.

Before their arrival at the shooting on the same day, this still from a nearby gas station shows Eric Harris purchasing gas.

An infamous picture showing Eric and Dylan in the cafeteria during the shooting. Dylan Klebold is seen holding an Intratec TEC-DC9, a controversial weapon that would later be banned in the USA. Intratec went out of business in 2001.

Patrick Ireland is ushered out of a broken window in the library by armed SWAT officers after the end of the violent library massacre. He was shot twice, causing damage to his head and leg, despite his injuries he is still alive today.

In these two images you see Eric Harris (18) and Dylan Klebold (17) lying dead on the floor of the Columbine High School library after the massacre. The both died from self inflicted gunshot wounds to the head.


In this image the Hi-Point 995 carbine is seen next to Klebold's (black shirt) knee, the sawed off double barrel shotgun used in the shooting is partially cropped, the handle can be seen near Klebolds boot.


Another view showing the shortened Savage 67H pump action shotgun underneath Harris' (white shirt) right leg. It is made apparent in this picture that Harris first shot himself in the head, followed by Klebold, as Klebolds blood and brain matter can be seen on the left pant leg of Harris, indicating that Klebold bled out onto him after he had already shot himself.
