17 Year Old Girl Knocks Down, Robs 86-Year-Old Woman

CAMPOBELLO, S.C. -- Deputies have arrested a 17-year-old girl they say knocked down and robbed an 86-year-old woman.

Kat Bruckner had purchased milk at a convenience store on Goodjoin Road in Campobello on Tuesday afternoon when, a girl, who had also asked her for money the day before, insisted that Bruckner give her the change she had from buying the milk.

Bruckner said, "She walked up to me and said, 'I want $4.' I said, 'You're not $4.' It just so happened I had a little bit of money sticking out of here, she said, 'That's what I want.'"

"She throwed me down on the concrete floor and she got about $60," Bruckner said.

Bruckner said, "I started hollering, 'Help, help. I'm being robbed."

The teen left the area in a silver and gray car.

The store clerk said the teen regularly hangs around the store and begs. She said, "It's a little old country store where everybody knows everybody."

Investigators used store surveillance video to identify Casey Danielle Anders, of Greer, as the suspect in the robbery.

Anders was arrested on Wednesday and charged with strong arm robbery and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

Bruckner was surprised the suspect in the robbery is so young.

"Started awful early didn't she?" she said.

Bruckner also said the girl is lucky it turned out the way it did.

"I feel wonderful they arrested her," she said. "And I just thank God I didn't have my pistol."
