USA: 'Hands off Syria' - Protesters march in LA to denounce US airstrike on Homs base

Hundreds of protesters marched through Downtown Los Angeles, on Friday, to protest against the US airstrike on a Syrian Arab Army airstrip that took place in the early hours of the morning.

Demanding that the USA was not to enter into another conflict in the Middle East, the protesters chanted, “Hands off Syria” and “No justice no peace, US out of the Middle East”

One of the protesters expressed his wish for the US to support forces already fighting in Syria, rather than enter the conflict themselves, saying, "The United States created al-Qaeda and then created ISIS. If they want to fight ISIS they let the Syrian army fight it, they let the Iraqi army fight it."

The emergency protest was called after the Al-Shayrat Airbase was the target of a US Tomahawk missile strike ordered by US President Donald Trump.

Trump said the attack was a direct response to Tuesday's alleged chemical weapons attack in Khan Sheikhoun near Idlib for which he holds Syrian President Bashar al-Assad responsible.
