8 Full Story: Why Kurds fought against Assad forces? (English subtitle)
As some of you know, there have been heavy clashes between Kurds and forces loyal to Bashar Assad. It seems like most media have different views why or how this started. Even here on liveleak, most post can't be trusted. Everyone is very quick to create a conspiracy theory why this happen.
The media loyal to Assad used excuses like the ''Kurds attacked from behind'' or ''Kurdish backstabbers or separatist''. However they don't tell what really happen or happening on the ground before the clashed started.
The Russian media were quick to blame Kurds who fought against the NDF as ''Radical Kurdish nationalist''. Anyone who fights Assad are radical according to their view. Now it's not in Russia intereset to see war between Assad Loyalist and Kurds. Vladmir Putin have very much praised Kurds and the Assad forces.
The western media were slow to report this, they blamed the fighting over some checkpoint, which is far from the true, the checkpoint thing happen, but that was not the real reason why the heavy clashes happen. No matter what, the western media's always aim to make Russia look bad no matter what they do. However in this case, they didn't choose a side.
Why and how it started?
Now here is the real reason why Kurds fought against the NDF. The Syrian Arab Army controlls a small area in Hasakah Provice, in the city of Qamishli they controll some villages, an airport and a prison.
Kurds, Assyrians and Syrians live side by side in some areas. As the YPG forces left these areas to fight the Islamic State, Assad forces had huge presence in these areas. There is nothing wrong with that, but the only problem is, they started mistreating the Kurdish population, specially when Kurds declared a federal region.
The Local Kurds were angry for the past few months, people were claiming they were being targeted by the ''National Defence Forces'' also known as NDF. In some areas were Kurds protested, they were put to jail or even shot at, specially by the Sutoro which is a Assyrians militia force. The Asayish ''Police'' wanted to talk the NDF leader about this matter, however the NDF leader responded with threats, as both sides ''Kurds and Assad forces draw weapon at eachother in a checkpoint, this is where it all started. This video explains the Kurdish side of this matter. Something you won't hear on any other media. What does the locals say? I apologize for my bad english writing.
As you see in the video, First day of the clashes, only a handful of people lightly armed tries to fight back, as the other side respond with heavy weapons, some 4 kurdish policies including civilians get killed, the second day people were expecting truce, but the fighting became worse. And the 3rd day, the YPG and some special forces arrived as they go on the offensive.
