Pop Star Stumbles Upon German Street Musician Singing His Song, Joins In

Being a street musician can be a lonely path: maybe you’ll get a stranger or two to stop and listen, maybe they’ll toss you a dollar or a stray button. But really the best case scenario is that while you’re performing a cover of someone else’s song, that very person happens to stroll by.

A musician in Berlin was performing “Smalltown Boy” by Bronski Beat, a well-known ’80s British group popular in Deutschland, when the song’s original singer Jimmy Somerville happened to pass by with his dog.

Somerville jumped in, the singer was startled then psyched, and the two jammed for a few. This makes us feel the opposite of schadenfreude.

from the OP:What a huge surprise for this streetmusician and us! We were filming him singing the song small
