The deposition was filmed in the dining room of the the house the Rebbetzin shared with her husband, the 7th Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

  • I was the court reporter who transcribed this deposition. Certain pages from my transcript are published in Rabbi Deutche's book about the Rebbe.

    I was a bit intimidated by who the Rebbetzin was, and so I apologetically told her that, for procedural reasons only, I had to ask her to affirm that she would tell the truth. Of course, the Gourary faction didn't like that because I, who was supposed to be impartial, was showing her a bit too much kovod.
