Egypt: Female protesters mowed down by car **EXCLUSIVE**

A unidentified young man plowed his vehicle into a crowd of female protesters in Cairo on Thursday, causing several injuries. The women were protesting the death of their colleague who was been shot dead yesterday night during clashes between pro-Muslim Brotherhood students and riot police in the vicinity of a residential compound of Al-Azhar University students.

Wednesday's clashes at Al-Azhar University between police and supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi followed a bombing on the Sinai Peninsula that killed 11 soldiers. Supporters of Morsi often protest at the university, which lies close to the Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque, the scene of a deadly August 14 confrontation with the military.
