Syrian army in full control of Base 80 in Aleppo province

The Syrian army has regained full control of a key base near the international airport at Aleppo province. The state television says following days of clashes with foreign-backed insurgents, the base known as Base EIGHTY is now under complete control of Syrian troops. The army has also confronted insurgent groups that tried to attack a military post in Idlib, killing or injuring all of them. The army says it has destroyed other militant groups and their weapons and ammunition in similar operations in other nearby villages. Battles are also raging on in Homs. Army forces say a large number of insurgents were killed in raging battles in several towns and villages. The advances come a day after the army regained control of a road that the insurgents had been using to attack towns and villages.
