Real Music: ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND WITH ERIC CLAPTON (March 03, Beacon Theatre, New York)

Tuneage: In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (see link).

Almost 40 years after Eric Clapton invited the late great Duane Allman to join in on the recording of the Derek & the Dominos’ blues/rock classic album “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs” (see link), 2009 finds EC on stage with my favourite current version of the ABB:
Gregg Allman: Organ, Piano
Derek Trucks: Slide Guitar (The Derek Trucks Band)
Butch Trucks: Drums
Warren Haynes: Guitar, Slide Guitar (Gov’t Mule, see link)
Oteli Burbridge: Bass
Chris Stainton: Keyboards

No surprise, the result is 14:12 of musical awesomeness.
If you are serious about real music, I strongly recommend you delve into the music of Gov't Mule, Derek Trucks and of course the continuing legacy of the ABB.
