Bankrupt Solyndra seeking to pay bonusesCourt’s OK sought for ‘incentive plan’

By Jim McElhatton The Washington Times

Now seems an unlikely time for handing out bonuses at bankrupt Solyndra LLC,but that’s the plan of company attorneys intending to dole out up to a half-million dollars to persuade key employees to stay put.Nearly two dozen Solyndra employees could receive bonuses ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 each under a proposal filed by Solyndra’s attorneys in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.

The attorneys say the extra money will add motivation at a time when workers at the solar company have little job security

  • This is the world Progressives want:

-Raiding the treasury to pay for pie-in-the-sky, non-viable, "green energy" schemes that never work.

-Giving all the "green energy" money to their political allies who kicked back a sizable amount of the taxpayer money to democrat party campaign funds.

-Allowing their friends to get rich in the process, and then donate even more money to democrat party campaign funds.

-Blaming the republicans for non-existent "global warming" More..

  • What a case of crony capitalism. If the Gubment really wanted to drive the growth of solar, they should have merely increased tax incentives to potential buyers, not doling out money to select manufacturers.

    • @Megadeth ,

They don't want to do that because then consumers that are interested in alternative energy sources would find out pretty quickly that the expensive appliances required to leverage wind and solar energy are notoriously unreliable and break down long before the consumer breaks even in energy savings to cover the cost of the equipment.

Wind and solar power are novelties that would be fairly cool if not for the fact that they use more energy to stay functional and running than they More..

  • Ahh yes America is indeed wonderful! I mean where else on earth can you run a corporation into the ground and not only get promoted but also receive a fat bonus and severance package?
