AQ Jabhat Al-Nusra blew up a large tunnel 400 meters away from the Air Force Intelligence building in west Aleppo

On Wednesday afternoon, the Syrian Al-Qaeda branch “Jabhat Al-Nusra” (The Victorious Front) blew up a large tunnel near the imperative Air Force Intelligence building in the Al-Zahra Association Quarter of Aleppo City.

The explosion created a tumultuous sound that could be heard from as far as the Sheikh Sa’eed District to the south and the Handarat District to the north.

According to a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) source, no soldiers or civilians were reportedly killed during the explosion; however, fierce clashes broke-out between the SAA and Jabhat Al-Nusra near the Great Prophet Mosque located west of the AFI building.

The SAA officer in the Al-Zahra Association Quarter, Major Adeeb Salameh, confirmed that the army has full-control over each perimeter of the AFI building, including the volatile western end that is currently immersed in a barrage of mortar shells and gunfire from the militants of Jabhat Al-Nusra.
