Held at hospital against will

Ronnie Smith, a Gallatin County resident and candidate for sheriff, received a phone call from his cousin from a St. Elizabeth hospital around 2:00pm on August 14th saying that they would not let her leave. Ronnie drove up to the hospital to get her but the hospital kept her forcefully. Ronnie tells us that his cousin had an epileptic seizure with a knife in her hand and when she went to the hospital, they did not believe her and accused her of attempted suicide. “They kidnapped her and would not let her leave,” said Ronnie. “She called me and I did the only thing I could think to do when a family member is kidnapped. I went to rescue her”. Ronnie also told us that they assaulted her and inflicted more damage than she could ever do to herself. Ronnie Smith’s family plans to seek legal action.
