Wounded Officer is Transported to Hospital after Fatal Shootout

Ogden City Police officer Michael Rounkles is transported to a local hospital after being wounded during a raid by the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force on Matthew David Stewart's home on January 4, 2012. Stewart, a former soldier, opened fire on the police with a Beretta pistol as they searched his house, killing Officer Jared Francom and wounding five others including Officer Rounkles.

Stewart was shot multiple times and was arrested in the incident. He claimed he fired in self-defense, but has been charged with aggravated murder, seven counts of attempted aggravated murder, and production of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.
