About 100 people, mostly Iranian pilgrims killed in Iraq bomb blast

About 100 people, mostly Iranian pilgrims have been killed in a bomb blast that ripped through a gas station south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Reports say the powerful bomb tore apart vehicles waiting for refueling at the gas station in Shomali district of Hillah city. Iraqi sources say the huge explosion left more than one hundred people injured, sending plumes of smoke into the air. The Iranians killed in the attack were pilgrims heading home from Arba'een commemorations in the holy city of Karbala. The Daesh takfiri terrorists have claimed responsibility for the attack. Witnesses say the death toll could rise.
