RAF Tornado GR1. Low Level Strike and Dogfight.

I loved this vid. It shows lots of the 80s tech (and haircuts). The avionics bay of a GR4 looks a bit different now (as does the cockpit, with MFDs etc) but this was a massively hi tech plane back then, with a full authority fly by wire system that was capable of compensating for any bits that might be blown off the plane during its risky low level strike missions.

Also the autopilot (shown in use here) was fully tied into the radar, and so could be flown just a few feet off the ground 'hands off' the controls.

Its a 30 min video though, but if you have any interest in this sort of thing, its well worth a watch.
