Greece: Protesters storm Labour Ministry in protest of Labour Law change

Protesters stormed the Labour Ministry building in Athens, tuesday, in protest against the government's decision to enforce stricter rules on unions and strikes; the amendment was eventually withdrawn following strong opposition.

Crowds entered the Labour Ministry building breaking through security forces and the building's entrance. According to a report, a police officer was injured during the action.

The protest was called for by the PAME union among others. Hours after being considered in parliament, the amendment was retracted. The change in the Labour Law would have seen the need for more than 50 percent of union members to agree in order to go on strike.
