The Lasting Dangers of Unexploded Israeli Cluster Bombs in Lebanon

Israel dropped over 1 million cluster bombs on at least 170 villages in southern Lebanon during its month-long war against Hezbollah in 2006. The bomblets that failed to explode remain a deadly trap for civilians. Dozens have been killed or wounded from the unexploded ordinances.

What is absolutely disturbing is that majority of these cluster bombs where dropped in "carpet bombing" fashion in the last two days of the war when there was clear a cease fire would be implemented.
