Stalingrad 1943. The Battle of Stalingrad was a major battle of World War II in which Nazi Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd) in southwestern Russia. The battle took place between 17 July 1942 and 2 February 1943, and is often cited as one of the turning points of the war. The battle was the amongst the bloodiest in the history of warfare, with the upper estimates of combined casualties coming to nearly two million.

Towards the end the desperate bid to escape saw some turn to suicide entire groups of German soldiers would kill themselves. An example in the vid is an entire artillery unit blowing themselves up in Desperation. Of the Several Hundread thousand Germans Captured only around 5,000 returned alive in 1955.
