Pasco sheriff's deputy shot in leg during barricade situation, suspect dead

On June 8, Pasco deputies responded to a call in New Port Richey. During that call, K9 Dep. Chris Stone was shot by a suspect. The below footage is body worn camera footage from that call. We are please to welcome K9 Dep. Stone back to active duty.

A Pasco County sheriff's deputy suffered a gunshot wound in the leg when a barricaded man opened fire in a New Port Richey home after responding to a domestic violence call.

Deputy Christopher Stone, 41, was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, where he underwent surgery for what authorities said was a life-threatening injury.

The sheriff's office says Stone's femoral artery was cut and the effort by his fellow deputies saved him from bleeding out.

Deputies went back into the house, located the suspect and carted him off to an area hospital for treatment. He died of his injuries a few days later.
