Note the Islamic State's borders with Turkey, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia and that the Islamic State does not make incursions into these three bordering countries.




Also note the incursions into Libya and Nigeria which are countries with large oil resources. I know at least Royal Dutch Shell has had drilling access to Nigerian oil fields.
