US State Overturns The Death Penalty.

The US state of New Jersey is to legally abolish the death penalty. Deputies in the Democrat-controlled state assembly voted 44 to 36 in favour of replacing it with life in prison without parole. New Jersey has not executed anyone since 1963. Thirteen other states don't enforce the death penalty but New Jersey will be the first to ban it since the US Supreme Court reinstated capital punishment in 1976.
