Romping, two-legged puppy has no idea he's different

by Madeleine Morgenstern

At first glance, Duncan Lou Who doesn’t look any different from other happy, bounding puppies. Looking closer, you can see that he’s very unique indeed.

Duncan was born with severely deformed back legs that were amputated when he was just 12 weeks old. One month later, with regular physical and hydrotherapy, he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

Panda Paws Rescue, a Washington-state based organization that specializes in dogs with special needs, posted video of Duncan running around that’s already been viewed more than 500,000 times since last week.

A little bit about Duncan from Panda Paws Rescue:

Duncan Lou Who is a Boxer puppy who was born with severely deformed rear legs & pelvis. The bones in his legs were completely fused by the time he was 8 weeks & there was no way to correct them to save them. We chose to amputate his rear legs making him a double amputee & giving him the greatest chance at a wonderful life when he was just 12 weeks old. Duncan Lou Who doesn’t let his unique differences slow him down & he doesn’t know he is any different. He is now 16 weeks old, does physical therapy every day to correct the damage to his spine since birth, is regularly going to be doing hydrotherapy for life to help support his muscles and he also has a custom wheelchair to give him a second option of mobility. Duncan Lou Who is on a mission… to inspire YOU!
