Debunking Phrases: "You can't always run away from you problems"

Today I attempt to debunk the saying:
"you can't run away from your problems"

Supposedly, when you try to escape, the 'problem' will somehow follow you around no matter whence you go, so you have to face it directly, etc. etc.
However, I've always felt that this is somehow bullshit, and most problems are actually very escape-able, given enough distance and time...they will NOT freaking follow you around everywhere you go - in fact most problems are quick to relent & completely forget about you and your existence.

Oh, and Merry Christmas & belated Hanukkah too, by the way!
