The United States Border Patrol advised that they just had an officer involved shooting at that location and one male subject was receiving medical attention.

Investigators believe that the un-named 28 year old male was an illegal immigrant who crossed into the country with other illegal immigrants.

Agents tracked the men and a canine was used to detect a man hiding under a tree/bush.

The man refused to come out for agents, ignored commands, and began to throw rocks at the canine and his handler the agent.

Agents say the suspect then ran from officers and continued to throw rocks at pursuing agents, one agent opened fire twice wounding the man.

A medical helicopter transported the male subject but he died enroute to the hospital.

Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives responded and will be conducting a joint investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the collaboration of the U.S. Border Patrol.

The agent and the canine were both treated for injuries sustained in the accident, the agent is also on paid administrative leave pending an investigation, this is standard in such incidents.
