A Jordanian tried to force entry into the cockpit on a Lufthansa flight to Belgrade today.

Passengers managed to overcome a Jordanian with an American passport, when he tried to break into the cockpit of a Lufthansa aircraft on a flight from Frankfurt - Belgrade. The plane landed safely at 12.45 and the Jordanian was taken by police. He was ordered to detention for up to 48 hours for the criminal offense of causing general danger and was forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office for interrogation.

Drama began in the skies over Austria when the Jordanian threatened to open the door of the plane. He was subdued by passengers and crew including members on the handball team RK Vojvodina. According to initial information, the flight crew did not report to Mission Control emergency, but the plane landed smoothly at the Belgrade airport, as planned.
