Video captures NYC’s latest unprovoked sidewalk attack

Disturbing surveillance video shows a woman getting walloped without warning by a passerby in Brooklyn on Monday morning — the city’s latest case of unprovoked sidewalk violence.

The unsuspecting, 40-year-old victim was sitting on the stoop outside 418 Sterling St. in Crown Heights when a man she doesn’t know struck her on the left side of her face around 7:45 a.m., the NYPD said.

A video clip posted online shows the brute walking up and using his left hand to deliver the roundhouse blow.

The assailant — who was wearing baggy jeans and an oversize, white T-shirt — never broke his stride, but turned and looked over his shoulder as he continued along the block and out of camera range.

The outrageous incident echoes an attack in Manhattan earlier this month, when a 92-year-woman was punched in the head and sent tumbling into a fire hydrant on Third Avenue near East 16th Street.

Rashid Brimmage — a mentally ill, 31-year-old man with a rap sheet listing more than 100 arrests — was quickly arrested after being identified by cops who recognized him.

The convicted sex offender was charged with assault and ordered held on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

Monday’s victim appeared stunned by the unprovoked attack on her but didn’t immediately get up from her seat, the video shows.

The woman works as an aide to an elderly woman who lives in the building, according to CrownHeights.info, which posted the video online.

The recording was captured by a surveillance camera on a building nearby, according to the website.

The attacker, who remains at large, is about 6 feet tall and was last seen headed east on Sterling Street, the NYPD said.
