Burglary suspect caught breaking into home

Yesterday afternoon, Deputy Greene was responding to a residential burglary alarm and 911 call on Kilgallen Court, Ormond Beach, when he spotted a suspicious vehicle leaving the area.

The driver explained that he was at the house to pressure wash it, and in doing so, he had to enter the house through a bathroom window. Deputy Greene was not convinced of the truthfulness of this account.

Inside, deputies found several rooms ransacked and rummaged through. In the back seat of the suspect vehicle, Deputy Greene found a pillowcase full of property belonging to the victims, ages 81 and 72. The stolen property included jewelry, antique items, paper foreign currency, a checkbook, cuff links engraved with the victim's initials, and several other items.

Justin Aldrich, 41 (DOB 1/17/1978) was charged with burglary and grand theft and taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail, where he was later released after posting $5,000 bond.
