"Salute to Trump" Dahlonega, GA rally draws heavy police presence, counter-demonstrators

A handful of activists held a "Salute to Trump" rally in Dahlonega, GA, which drew a crowd of counter-demonstrators and a heavy police presence.

Speakers at the event included Jovi Val and Charles Edward Lincoln, both speakers at "Unite the Right 2," the DC sequel rally to the deadly 2017 rally in Charlottesville.

Approximately 100 counter-demonstrators showed up and chanted "Whose streets? Our streets!” and “No Nazis, no KKK, no fascist USA!”

Two were arrested early in the event after passing to the "Salute to America" side. It is unclear whether they have been charged.

"Salute to Trump" attendees passed through a security checkpoint before entering the rally. According to reporting by Jim Urquhart, at least one attendee came with a firearm, which he was allowed to keep given that he had no ammunition on his person.

The rally dispersed peacefully.
