Deputies rescue deer from icy pond

Video from body cam footage shows deputies in Wyoming helped to rescue a deer stranded in a pond's icy waters.

The Sublette County Sheriff's Office posted the video.

The post said Deputy Justin Hays was passing through town when he saw the struggling deer.

Hays was joined by another deputy.

The two law enforcement officers used a rope to lasso the deer around its legs and pull it out of water.

"Deputy Hays stated he wanted to have a large enough loop for the deer to get a leg through so the rope wouldn’t be around the deer’s neck," the Sheriff's Office said in its post.

The deputies carried the deer to the asphalt so it could warm up, the Sheriff's Office said.
