An out-of-control car smashed into parked vehicles, injuring two in southern China.

The terrifying video, filmed in the city of Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on January 17, shows a silver car speeding along a road, narrowly missing a child but smashing into vehicles parked in front of a shop.

An elderly woman and her 11-year-old grandson were injured and sent to hospital for treatment.

According to the motorist's wife Ms Wei, she saw the car's retroreflector was knocked down and asked her husband named Long to slow down but he did not respond.

Wei asked Long to slow down again after the car lost control but Long did not respond and still pressed the accelerator.

Wei said Long had injuries to his head after fell down from a truck 20 years ago and he suffered cerebral infarction and encephalography before.

Long told the police that he lost consciousness while driving and did not know what happened until around six minutes after the incident.

The injured grandmother and her grandson were still having treatment in hospital but they were not in life-threatening condition.

The case is being investigated, reports said.
