Germany to move troops from Turkey’s İncirlik base to Jordan

Germany says it plans to move its aircraft and military personnel out of Turkey's Incirlik airbase, as Turkey refuses to allow visits by German MPs. Turkey moved to prohibit the visit of German deputies in retaliation to Germany granting asylum NATO officers, journalists, and others leaving Turkey following the attempted coup in Turkey on July 15, 2016. Turkey estimates that 4,500 asylum seekers have found refuge in Berlin, all of whom Ankara regards members of a terrorist organization. German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen said they would relocate to Jordan's Azraq airbase
