Police Chase Habitual Offender. Multiple PIT Maneuver

Florida, US - The Melbourne Police Department Officers responded at he Manatee Cove Apartments at 750 Carolin Street around 3:30 p.m. November 2,2020 after reports of a shooting.

Nobody was injured in the gunfire, only a stray bullet hit a nearby apartment.

Police officers then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and when the vehicle came to a stop, a passenger got out of the vehicle and surrendered authorities.
However, the driver Eric Curtis Edwards, 29 sped away from officers, initiating a vehicle pursuit with police.

After many pit manoeuver attempt police officer finally stopped Edwards with a successful one.
Edwards then attempted to run away before being taken into custody.

Edwards is charged with driving with a suspended license, ( habitual offender) fleeing with disregard to safety of people and property, reckless driving and resisting arrest without violence.

PIT maneuver
The PIT maneuver or TVI (tactical vehicle intervention) is a pursuit tactic by which a pursuing car can force a fleeing car to turn sideways abruptly, causing the driver to lose control and stop.
