Police car is rammed by stolen van in pursuit which left five cops injured

A maniac van driver rammed police cars during a pursuit which left five officers injured.

A police dashboard camera captured Irfan Mohammed reversing into a patrol car during a chase, in which two other patrol vehicles were damaged.

In the video, the crazed driver can be seen driving off before the footage ends with a police car colliding with his van.

Mohammed, 30, caused £60,000 of damage to three police cars with the three and half-tonne Mercedes Luton van.

Officers suffered injuries including whiplash, a suspected broken hand and burns caused by an airbag.

The 30-year-old, of Coleshill Road, Hodge Hill , had stolen the van from the Holiday Inn near the NEC in Birmingham, where the owner had parked it on May 16 this year.

At Worcester Crown Court, Mohammed admitted dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, possession of cannabis and driving without insurance following the chase on May 18 this year.
