US and UK govts claim NotPetya was a Russian cyberattack on Ukraine

On February 15 both the UK and US governments posted statements accusing the Russian military of launching a cyberattack on Ukraine on the 27th of june 2017. The NotPetya virus affected banks, ministries and electricity firms in the UK, Italy, Poland, the US, the UK, Australia and also Russia. The most damage however, over 80% of the total, was inflicted to Ukrainian government services and businesses. The fact that the virus was programmed to make as much damage as possible in the country of Ukraine is further evidence that the NotPetya virus was deliberately created to disrupt its economy. The creators of the virus went as far as specifically targetting the monitoring equipment around the Chernoby radiation zone.
