Typhoon Molave reaches Thailand after destruction across region

Strong wind and heavy rain hit Thailand today (October 29) as Typhoon Molave moved towards the country.

The deadly storm has killed at least 13 people in Vietnam and 16 in the Philippines with many more still missing. Millions of people have been evacuated or left without power amid a trail of destruction.

Forecasters said the typhoon, also known as Quinta, has weakened to a tropical depression and will reach Laos and northern Thailand today with heavy rain and flash floods predicted.

Footage from Nakhon Ratchasima province today shows the gloomy weather and rain showers this morning as residents prepare for the onslaught.
