Surveillance video shows female burglar take a painful tumble from ceiling onto metal kitchen counter during restaurant break-in

A woman trying to break into a restaurant in Florida on Halloween got her just desserts when the force of gravity sent her tumbling from the ceiling, in an incident that was caught on surveillance video.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday released the recording in an effort to generate tips that would lead to the perpetrators' capture.

According to a press release from the agency, at around 3.40am on October 31, deputies responded to a call about a burglary at Bowls and Brews restaurant in the 100 block of North Ventura Avenue in Ojai.

he owner of the targeted business showed the deputies surveillance video that documented the heist.

In it, a man and a woman wearing masks and beanies are seen outside the eatery at night, armed with a flashlight and a duffel bag.

Some 30 seconds into the video, the woman is seen dangling from the ceiling as she tries to enter through the roof, then falls onto a metal food preparation table and hits the floor hard.

The woman appears injured by the tumble and is slow to get up. While she remains seated on the floor, readjusting her mask and hat, her male accomplice busies himself by stuffing 'numerous' bottles of wine into the bag, according to the sheriff's office.

The man then walks over to the cash register and removes several hundred dollars.

The suspects fled out the rear door with their loot. So far, they have not been caught.

The male perpetrator is described as a white man aged 20-25 years old, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet in height, with short brown hair.

His hapless sidekick is said to be white or Hispanic, 18-25 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, weighing between 110-130lbs, with bleached blond hair and dark roots.
