Ukrainian troops disarm over 40 landmines near Mariinka, Donetsk region

The Ukrainian military disarmed over 40 landmines in the area of Mariinka, in the war-affected part of Donetsk region. The mines were placed by Russian backed forces. The troops detected the mines as they were fortifying their outposts on the frontline.

Experts found out that all these mines were produced abroad, all of them come with foreign markings. According to Ottawa Convention, landmines are considered banned devices in the modern warfare yet Russian forces leave them for civilians to step on.
