Drowning at Toronto Kew Balmy Beach, Woodbine Beach, Video[Saturday July 21, 2018]

The first shows the lead up, no one really knew what was going on. The second shows the man being found.

I was filming the waves before the rescue operation started. I only realized something was amiss after reviewing one of my videos and noticing life gaurds running by. At no time was I in their path or impeding the ability of rescue workers. By the time I was filming, emergency services were on-site and onlookers were starting to form. Some may disagree, however I believe video documentation of tragic events is valuable to others in many ways while running the risk of appearing insensitive to the victim's family. I was in the water up to my waist (in front of a life gaurd... ) and foolishly underestimated the power of the lake this day. Let this video serve as a reminder of the sheer raw power of water and how easy it is to under estimate conditions.

PSA: Don't go swimming when the waves look like this. You put yourself and others lives at risk. Dont even go into the water... Great work to the heroic life gaurds and selfless bystanders who did their best despite the dangerous weather conditions.

Condolences to the friends and family of the deceased. RIP.
