Turkey is Considering to Buy Russian Fighter Jets

According to Turkish newspaper Yeni ┼×afak, Turkish officials have asked Turkish military to asses option of buying Russian Su-35 fighter jets. After Russian air defense system S-400, this would be another major weapon system that Turkey would buy in Russia. It is result of policies of Turkish ally USA which first refused to sell Patriot air defense system to Turkey and then when Turkey ordered Russian S-400 system instead, USA begun to threaten Turkey with sanctions and throwing Turkey out of the F-35 fighter jet program, to which Turkey is major contributor. USA have recently imposed sanctions on Russian weapon sales but so far failed to prevent any and moreover failed to prevent even it's allies from buying Russian weapons. In fact it seems that US policies of penalizing it's partners for ties to Russia seems to have opposite effect and do more harm to USA then Russia.

In a similar move and also in defiance to US sanctions, India recently decided to order 18 Su-30MKI and 20 MiG-29 fighters from Russia.
