Oil Tanker burns after alleged Torpedo attack, Strait of Hormuz; Iran, June 2019

Iranian news agency Fars News blames the United Arab Emirates for the attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman - and speaks of a false flag with the aim of waging a war against Iran.

After a suspected attack on two crude oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, the Norwegian tanker "Front Altair" is said to have sunk, according to a report by the Iranian news agency Irna. A spokesman for the shipping company, however, contradicted this in a first statement. The tanker was still above water.

The other ship, the "Kokuka Courageous" belongs to the German shipping group Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement. It sails under the flag of Panama. In a statement, the Hamburg shipping group confirmed the incident between 5.00 and 6.00 a.m. local time on Thursday morning (focus.de)
