Iter Tokamak Assembly Begins

The international consortium that makes up ITER the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor announced commencement of machine assembly on July 28, 2020. This project rivals the cost and complexity of CERN's Large Hadron Collider. ITER looks to initiate first plasma runs in 2025. This project is intended to demonstrate the feasability of fusion as a carbon-free, safe, limitless source of electrical energy. For further information, www.
