Tree branch crashes down onto woman’s head

A tree branch crashed down onto a woman’s head while she walked along the road.

CCTV footage shows Mae Pirom, 58, running to avoid the falling debris which still caught up to her in Chonburi province, Thailand on March 2.

Workers were trimming trees that lined up the road near power lines when the old woman passed by.

One of the branches was halfway through being cut when Pirom was seen approaching.

A worker had warned her and tried to evade but it was too late as the branch had landed on top of her.

Onlookers ran over to the woman who collapsed to the ground after the impact.

She tried standing up but her neck and back was too painful to move so they called the emergency rescuers for help.

One of the workers said: ‘She was walking under the tree as the branches fell. I tried to warn her but she didn’t hear me right away.’

Paramedics arrived at the scene to check on the woman and found that her neck was injured so they had to put her on a stretcher before taking her in an ambulance to the hospital.

Aside from the neck injuries, she also had bruises in her arms and scratches where the branch had fallen.

Mae is still at the hospital recovering but she will have to wear a neck brace for at least a month once she is discharged.
