52 YEARS AGO TODAY : BLACK PANTHERS PROTEST GUN BAN And Ronald Reagan Runs Away

At the California Capital, on 2 May 1967, armed Black Panther Party members stormed the California Capitol to protest laws that would, among other things, restrict open carry in the state. Ronald Reagan, then just 5 months into his first term as Governor of California, ran away from the scene flanked by Capitol Police. Followed by a scuffle with Black Panthers co-founder Huey Newton with police on site.
