A US man has been held for murder after he accidentally pocket-dialed emergency services number 911 while planning the slaying and the sinister plot was recorded. Scott Simon, 24, from Pompano Beach, Florida, mistakenly pocket-dialed 911 as he planned a killing earlier this month, enabling an emergency dispatch system to record his conversation and link him to the slaying, authorities said on Wednesday. Simon was heard talking with another person on a recorded 911 line on May 5, saying he's going to follow Nicholas Romondo Walker, 33, of Lauderhill, home and kill him, according to a Broward sheriff's office statement. Broward sheriff's homicide detectives on Tuesday arrested Simon on a charge of first-degree murder in the killing of Walker, 33, the Broward sheriff's office (BSO) said. The call took place just minutes before the fatal shooting. Nicholas Walker's mother, Joyce Walker of Lauderhill, said she's "very happy. I want them to catch them all," Joyce Walker said. It was around 6.30am (local time), when deputies and the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a report of shots fired. Investigators said Walker was entering Interstate 95 south at Commercial Boulevard when he was shot multiple times, the Sun Sentinel reported. Walker's Buick then crashed into a guard rail. When deputies and Oakland Park fire rescue came to the on-ramp about 10 minutes later, they found flames shooting out of the car's engine compartment. Fire rescue put out the flames. BSO spokeswoman Dani Moschella said Walker died at the scene from gunshot wounds. BSO investigators say they don't think Simon pulled the trigger in the shooting, but believe he orchestrated the attack. The South Florida case isn't the only pocket-dialing incident in recent weeks. Four days after Simon's flub, two 20-year-old men, Nathan Teklemariam and Carson Rinehart, ran into the same problem in Fresno, California. One of the men accidentally called 911 from his pocket, saying that they "need weed." The dispatcher listened as the duo shattered glass to break into a car. So it starts off with them getting the gifts, which include computing, home entertainment, communication, and cooking products - all electronic. All purchased in the US, consequently 110V rated. I purchased them a AC to AC transformer and wrote down the operation on paper and made an instructional video (look up my channel) on how to use it. So first night the gifts come in, Dad is missing the only component : a plug adapter : which converts an American Male plug to an Indian Male, so it can fit the Indian female wall socket. I calmly explain that ONLY the laptop's power cord can be directly fitted to the wall socket, since it is rated from 100v to 250V and all the rest need to be plugged to a power strip which is sourced from the AC to AC transformer. I know Dad. If you cross the thought process of a mule with a heavy load climbing a steep slope and a 100 lb German Shepherd being taken to a bath and mix in the emotions of 50,000 sheep being taught the alphabet at MIT's space research laboratory, you will get to around 1/100th part of the obstinacy that my dad was inherently born with. And that obstinacy has exponentially grown over time. It is now to the extent, that if he visits a hospital, all women in labor need to have C-Sections since his mere presence affects the babies and makes them obstinate enough to not come out on their own. Dad got the power adapter, which they call "China plug" in India, and then did not call me. He was proceeding to test certain theories on the Cordless home phone system with multiple hand sets, when unluckily I called. What could have been an interesting series of pops, crackles and a nice smell of ozone in the air was cut short, since I demanded he cease and desist. Of course his comment was I had sent garbage, which was already damaged on arrival. And he proceeded to prove his theory by throwing an expensive piece of electronic equipment to the wall. As per my Dad, violence always serves as a statement of truth. It was nary a week I had welts on my back where he had severely thrashed me, since I was playing cricket in the apartment grounds, instead of studying for my 4th grade exams. But thats a different story. Mom was a nervous wreck, and there was a happy yelling match in progression when I interrupted. Now the funniest thing was: since we were on video chat on skype, and they were sharing one head set, it escaped their angry minds that if I am saying some thing, then it is being heard by only the person with the head set on his/hear ears. So naturally every time either assumed that the other MUST have heard what I said and proceeded to rant loudly at the other when the other goofed and did not follow the instructions given by me. They made things a bit more interesting by putting things down and then promptly forgetting where they had put it. And with the tempers flaring, they rapidly forget the statements I had said, or jumbled them up. This went on through three 45 minute skype calls, and I kid you not, even as a healthy young man, I had chest pains after every call! Finally on the 4th call, I asked mom to put everything aside and write down what ever I said. I went through some basic electrical engineering, explaining DC and AC electricity, transformers, switches, etc. In so far, 3 pieces of rather expensive electronic items have been destroyed. And I shudder to think what will happen next when we finish the first step of connecting the damn pre configured IBM Laptop to the internet and move to the home phone system or the entertainment system. They call their practice "Robin Hooding," and in just over four months, the group claims to have spared motorists more than 2,000 tickets in the city of some 23,000. "It's my philosophy," said Cleaveland, 26, a member of a group called Free Keene, which subscribes to the libertarian principle of smaller government. "I could go talk to the city council at every meeting but to me, actions speak louder than words. I can go out and try to save people and reduce the number of tickets." The southern New Hampshire city's government does not share Cleaveland's view. This month it filed suit in state court against him and five others seeking a restraining order to keep them at least 50 feet from parking enforcement officers. The suit accuses Cleaveland and five others of videotaping, taunting and intimidating its parking meter personnel. The alleged behavior includes chasing officers on bicycles, shouting insults and accusing them of stealing people's money. One officer became so stressed that he complained of heart palpitations and began having nightmares about the group, according to court papers. "It's affecting the employees and it's taking a lot of time and energy to deal with it, and so the city's intent was to try to establish some clear boundaries and a little breathing room," said James Duffy, a member of the Keene City Council. "We're not saying you can't complain about the meters or plug them, it's just how that's done." Cleaveland has vowed to continue. He said he knows each parking attendant by name. NEW DELHI: Prices of 348 medicines, including life-saving drugs, will be cheaper soon by up to 80 per cent as the new drug price control order (DPCO) has come into effect. Industry experts said the implementation of the new drug policy will lead to slashing of prices of many anti-cancer and anti-infective drugs by 50-80 per cent. According to the website of department of pharmaceuticals, the government has notified the drug prices control order (DPCO), 2013, with effect from May 15, replacing the 1995 order. The new order will give power to the national pharmaceutical pricing policy (NPPP) 2012 to regulate prices of 348 essential drugs. Drug prices control order, 1995, regulated prices of only 74 bulk drugs. The NPPP 2012 was approved by the Cabinet on November 22, 2012 and later it was notified on December 7, 2012. As per the new drugs policy, all strengths and dosages specified in the national list of essential medicines (NLEM) 2011 will be under price control. According to the approved policy, prices of medicines will now be capped by taking simple average of all brands which have more than one per cent market share instead of input costs. The DPCO 2013, issued under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, will lay the framework of the drug policy and mechanism of regulating prices. According to it, the National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA) will be the implementation authority for the new policy and the new DPCO. NPPP-2012 took long to finalize due to differences between ministries of health and chemicals and fertilizers.
