Alleged "sarin gas hand grenade" is most likely a non-lethal crowed control grenade

There have been some pictures surfacing all over the web of these items,
claiming they are connected to the reports about incidents involving nerve gas in
Syria. I took the time to write this post since there seem to be a few points
over looked by people rushing to conclusions:

N.R. Jenzen-Jones uploaded a very enlightening post featuring pictures
of some similar tear gas grenades, so even without knowing the first thing
about nerve agents, one can see these items appear to have a design of a tear
gas grenade.

As sarin (GB) is an extremely potent nerve agents, most known designs of
sarin deliverance systems make use of the fact that sarin, like other G-agents
is created by a reaction between a chemical called methylphosphonyl difluoride
(DF) and the appropriate alcohol (Isopropyl alcohol in the case of sarin). In
this binary design, the two chemicals mix only prior to use, preferably in midair,
so in case of a leak the soldiers would only be exposed to a less dangerous chemical.
The canisters in question are obviously of unitary design, not likely to be
used with sarin.

A much more likely scenario of sarin gas been used by the rebels, is the
use of captured artillery rounds, possibly without even realizing what they
are. On May 17, 2004, US troops in Iraq were exposed to sarin gas while examining
the remains of an exploded IED. It appears the insurgents were not aware that a
155mm Iraqi artillery shell they incorporated in the IED, was in fact an Iraqi
binary sarin gas round. Luckily for the soldiers, since the round wasn't used
the way it was the designed to be used (ie fired from a canon), the two
chemicals didn't mix properly and the soldiers only suffered minor injuries.

I personally trust the reports of nerve agent used in Syria, as they
came from several different governments. But it appear a smoking gun has yet to
present itself (at least not publicly).

I'm starting to think someone in the SAA want's them to win, why would they abandoned this base without destroying all weapons?

Any way the shorter crates contain 107mm rockets (range of 8 km) and the larger ones looks like 122mm rockets (range of about 20 km more or less, depending on the exact model):

Next up we have 78mm recoilless gun Anti-Tank rounds and ammo for for an Heavy machine gun/Anti-Air gun:

And finally 120mm APFSDSs (not very useful for the rebels) and some artillery shells:

One can clearly see that the fin assembly is identical to the one shown in one of my previous post, also the black canister is partially visible at 0:26. There's no one filming the target but a thud is heard after the launch so I'm guessing it works, at least for direct firing, the effectiveness of use as indirect projectile is still questionable (someone commented in the previous post that the SNEB rocket has a self destruct mechanism that would probably detonate before the rocket will hit the ground).

Though good for laughs, the thing didn't even explode so I would mark this latest Syrian ingenuity as "Unsuccessful".

It's not clear how these bit out of place unguided anti-tank rockets has found their way to Syria (probably from Gaddafi endless arsenal). Also I'm not 100 percent sure about this identification since it's the first one I've seen in a video from Syria, but the best match I found was from this old Libyan war report on the NYT website:

Syria - rebels use S-5 rocket (or similiar) as short range artillery

The S-5 is a Soviet rocket used by aircraft to attack ground targets, in the Libyan civil war the rebels got hold of a large number of these rockets, but lacked any aircrafts to launch them from. The rebels fitted aerial launch system and improvised ones onto vehicles and used them as short range artillery rockets. Some of those rockets were also fired from improvised shoulder launchers.

I saw the third part of the video (which was probably stitched together by the YT user) earlier this week and was intrigued, but didn't know exactly what I was looking at. It seems that the rockets in second half are different since they have a black tip and the video description does says C-5 and C-7 (C being Russian for S) rockets. Not sure what S-7 rocket is, maybe they meant S-8?

Notice also the wireless activation system.

Atareb, Aleppo. Several storage room filled to the brim with assorted weapons, annoyingly they don't bother with showing what's inside the boxes or even whats written on them, from what I gathered from the videos (no point of uploading all of them, but there are more ) apart from the SAMs there seems to some sort of anti-tank rockets (hard to tell since it's in a plastic wrap) and some large anti-tank mines which the IED teams would probably find useful.

Note this is an older MANPADS (circa 80's) compared to the modern SA-24 that was captured in Ghouta recently, but this catch seems to be note worthy nonetheless because of it's apparent size.

Achmed Nahel is said to be a Global Jihad member (not Hamas). Snackbar seeking missile anyone?

The Spike is a family of forth generation ("fire and forget" or "fire, observe and update") anti tank guided missiles, ranging from a max range of 1500m/5,000ft for the smallest of the missiles (spike-SR/Za'atut) and 25km/15 miles for the largest one (spike-NLOS/Tamuz), developed and manufactured by RAFAEL company in Israel. The project began development during the mid 80's and became operational during the early 90's. After a long period of being a top-secret weapon, they have been declassified in the past years and were made available for purchase by foreign armies, which several of have adopted the missile systems.

In past 12 hours, more than 100 rockets has been launched by Islamic terrorist in Gaza on Israeli cities, in addition too several hundreds from last week, terrorizing more than a million Israelis living in those rockets range. Luckily no casualties since a rocket killed 3 people in Kiryat Malaki this weekend, however there were citizens injured and some damage to property.

As I was too exited by the magnitude of the development, I made a previous upload without waiting for a video. but here it is, what appears to be the same cache discussed in the previous post (and there are also some small arms and a some Sagger AT-3 anti tank missiles).

Notice many of the items are actually training and mock-ups which have no military value for the FSA (unless they want to practice their aiming), but there are some definitely real and deadly missiles there.

The second thing, though not the first helicopter to be shot down in the this civil war, this one was shot yesterday in Ghouta, Damascus, which is where the SA-24's were captured and presumably still are. coincidence? maybe, maybe not. no more information at this point.

No videos of those bad boys in use yet, but I have a feeling that those will come soon.
