MONTGOMERY, Alabama - Acting state Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Worley lowered her head and slowly shook it side to side when summing up the financial condition of her once powerful party.

"We're broke, broke, broke," Worley told the party's Executive Board in a special called meeting Frida.

How broke is broke? Worley didn't sugar coat the answer.

"This is my 18th day as chair and thirty minutes after I took over on April 22nd the landlord of the building where our party headquarters are came in and said he wanted us out, that the rent was overdue and was always overdue," said Worley.

Next came the water company with a message, said Worley: pay up by the next day or we're cutting off the water. Next came the same warning from Alabama Power. Next came news from banks that party credit cards had been maxed out and were now cancelled.

"I didn't even know where the checkbook was, not that it would have made much difference," said Worley.

Worley said she dealt with each demand for back payments the same way.

"I begged them to give me a few more days, that I had just taken over the job and needed a little time" said Worley. "I have never done that much begging in my life."

Last week's board meeting was the first since former Democratic Party Chairman Mark Kennedy announced that he was stepping down following a public fight with Reed and Worley over the party's budget and control.

Shortly after resigning, Kennedy announced he was forming a new organization to be called the Alabama Democratic Majority and that he would lead it in an effort to reshape and energize the party.

The Alabama Democratic Majority came in for heated criticism at the board meeting by not just Worley but by Joe Reed, the party's long time vice chairman and chairman of the party's black wing, the Alabama Democratic Conference.

Worley said in addition to the financial chaos there are equipment, supplies and art work missing from party headquarters. Worley charged that a quick review has shown that Kennedy and the party staff he took with him appear to have taken data including information on over 2.8 million voters and to have cut off bank drafts from donors to the party and diverted them to Kennedy's new organization.

Among the alleged missing equipment are laptops, cell phones and printing paper. Worley said she personally observed a car parked at the back rear of party headquarters over the weekend of April 20th and saw equipment and art work and printer paper lined along the back wall.

"There are a lot of questions, a lot of them, about what happened here," said Worley.

Montgomery lawyer and Democrat James Anderson, who volunteered his time to help the board, told the group that he had met with Kennedy before the board meeting and Kennedy assured him that anything that might have been mistakenly taken would be returned. Anderson said Kennedy very much wanted to work with the group to clear up any misunderstandings.

But that didn't seem to soothe the board.

One board member shouted out that it appeared to him that Kennedy's new group was trying to "sabotage" the party. When the man appeared to have second thoughts, Reed spoke up saying to the man, "No. You're right. Sabotage is the right word," said Reed.

Efforts to reach the Alabama Democratic Majority for comment were not successful.

Worley was critical of press reports about Kennedy's leaving and his disagreements with Reed.

"It was spun as a feud around race because race sells newspapers," said Worley.

Reed said Kennedy's leaving was about one thing.

"Financial accountability. That's what this is all about," said Reed. "The leaders of this party are going to insist on financial accountability. The rest is fluff."

But some on the board pointed out to Reed and Worley that the party's financial troubles are not new nor the fault of Kennedy who inherited most of the debt, which goes back to 1999 when the party borrowed money to help finance then Gov. Don Siegelman's failed education lottery campaign.

Worley said she and the board must be more financially accountable. But Worley said that she was kept in the dark by Kennedy about the party's financial condition.

On Kennedy's new organization, Reed never mentioned it by name but said this:

"No one can cooperate with folks who do nothing to pay off their debts but in fact add to the debt and then walk away," said Reed.

Reed charged that Kennedy and some others in the party had plotted to break away for a long time and in the process leave the party damaged.

"This was a concerted effort to undermine, weaken and sabotage the Democratic Party and we are not going to let it happen," said Reed.

"That Hezbollah ever killed American soldiers and civilians is only spouted by Zionists."

Read a comment response to me earlier today: That Hezbollah ever killed American soldiers and civilians is only spouted by Zionists.

Hezbollah is a resistance movement dedicated to defending Lebanon and to supporting the right of return of Palestinians - who incidentally are mostly Sunni and Christian, not Shia like Hezbollah.

Delusions of grandeur from a terrorist supporter . historically inaccurate to the point of disbelief. I dont care about your fantasies, or of the pending equalisations of "America did this" or "America did that."

Hezbollah have committed attrocities, they are terrorists and at best oppression-fighters (because freedom-fighter would assume they fight for freedom, rather than as clearly stated a religious theocracy).

Hezbollah has hijacked planes, they have kidnapped israelis and americans, they have been responsible for a number of suicide attacks.

But the comment clearly states that they never hurt a hair of an American. How is this possible when if hezbollah was responsible for the two explosions in Beirut on October 23, 1983 that killed 241 American Marines and 56 French servicemen sleeping in their barracks. Can't pull the wool over the eyes of any man or woman with access to google.

16 Philly Residents Accused of Welfare Fraud

Sixteen Philadelphia residents are facing charges, accused of scamming the state welfare system out of $330,000.

The Attorney General's office says the fraud originated at the Philadelphia County Assistance office and centers around Kyshima Montgomery, a clerical worker there.

The Attorney General's office says it started an investigation after the Department of Public Welfare noticed a large amount of "Special Allowances of One Time Issuance" being performed at the West District office.

This type of allowance is electronically transferred to the welfare recipient's account and allows them to withdraw money using a debit card, according to the A.G.'s office.

Montgomery, of 2934 N. Judson St., Philadelphia, is accused of conspiring with 15 others to put money into their accounts, and investigators say she would withdraw most of the money for herself and would share the rest of the stolen money.

The people did not qualify for this type of financial assistance, investigators say.

A trial date for Montgomery is set for December 16, 2013. She is charged with theft by deception, unlawful use of a computer and criminal conspiracy, among other charges.

Here is the list of the co-conspirators charged in "Operation Special Allowances:"

Tyria Williams, 24, 1820 S. 19th St., Philadelphia, is charged with one count each of theft by deception and criminal conspiracy.

Boston Bombers' Uncle Ruslan Tsarni Married Daughter Of Top CIA Official

http://www.madcowprod.com/?attachment_id=3832 <------Radaris "find people" link showing same address and phone number for them

The uncle of the two suspected Boston bombers in last week's attack, Ruslan Tsarni, was married to the daughter of former top CIA official Graham Fuller

The discovery that Uncle Ruslan Tsarni had spy connections that go far deeper than had been previously known is ironic, especially since the mainstrean media's focus yesterday was on a feverish search to find who might have recruited the Tsarnaev brothers.

The chief suspect was a red-haired Armenian exorcist. They were fingering a suspect who may not, in fact, even exist.

It was like blaming one-armed hippies on acid for killing your wife.

Ruslan Tsarni married the daughter of former top CIA official Graham Fuller, who spent 20 years as operations officer in Turkey, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. In 1982 Fuller was appointed the National Intelligence Officer for Near East and South Asia at the CIA, and in 1986, under Ronald Reagan, he became the Vice-Chairman of the National Intelligence Council, with overall responsibility for national level strategic forecasting.

At the time of their marriage, Ruslan Tsarni was known as Ruslan Tsarnaev , the same last name as his nephews Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the alleged bombers.

It is unknown when he changed his last name to Tsarni.

What is known is that sometime in the early 1990's, while she was a graduate student in North Carolina, and he was in law school at Duke, Ruslan Tsarnaev met and married Samantha Ankara Fuller, the daughter of Graham and Prudence Fuller of Rockville Maryland. Her middle name suggests a reference to one of her father's CIA postings.

The couple divorced sometime before 2004.

Today Ms. Fuller lives abroad, and is a director of several companies pursuing strategies to increase energy production from clean-burning and renewable resources.

On a more ominous note, Graham Fuller was listed as one of the American Deep State rogues on Sibel Edmonds' State Secrets Privilege Gallery,. Edmonds explained it featured subjects of FBI investigations she became aware of during her time as an FBI translator.

Criminal activities were being protected by claims of State Secrets, she asserted. After Attorney General John Ashcroft went all the way to the Supreme Court to muzzle her under a little-used doctrine of State Secrets, she put up twenty-one photos, with no names.

One of them was Graham Fuller.

A story about a Chechen oik exec/uncle pairing up with a top CIA official who once served as CIA Station Chief in Kabul sounds like a pitch for a bad movie.

But the two men may have been in business together.

In 1995, Tsarnaev incorporated the Congress of Chechen International Organization s in Maryland, using as the address listed on incorporation documents 11114 Whisperwood Ln, in Rockville Maryland, the home address of his then-father-in-law.

It is just eight miles up the Washington National Pike from the Montgomery Village home where "Uncle Ruslan" met-and apparently wowed, the press after the attack in Boston.

The Washington Post yesterday called him a "media maven ," while nationally syndicated Washington Post columnist Ester Cepeda , in a piece with the headline " The Wise Words of Uncle Ruslan" opined that he was her choice for "an award for bravery in the face of adversity."

Uncle Ruslan's spy connections go far deeper than was already known, which was that he spent two years working in Kazakhstan for USAID.

But the mainstream media was lookng the other way.

Under the headline " Did 'Misha' influence Tsarnaevs? In Watertown, doubts," USA Today reported: "Misha. A new name has emerged in the Boston Marathon bombing case-one familiar to the family of the two young men accused of the atrocity and apparently of interest to the Russian and American security services as well."

Ruslan Tsarni was the first to bring up the supposed man's supposed name. Or rather, he brought up a first name: Misha. But it was enough. We were off to the races...

Attention all cars: Be on lookout for chubby Armenian exorcist Tsarni described Misha to CNN as being "chubby, a big guy, big mouth presenting himself with some kind of abilities as exorcist . . . having some part-time job in one of the stores, not married. All of the qualifications of a loser, just another big mouth."

According to Uncle Ruslan, Misha was the man who over a considerable period of time had radicalized Tamerlan.

It seemed strange, then, that in contrast to his "you are there" verbal picture of the man, even with all his supposed concerns, and given his high level of education and abundant resources (Big Sky Energy was paying him in excess of $200,00 a year, according to documents filed with the SEC) Ruslan had somehow never found out just who the bad guy was.

He never got a name, something that in spook-dom is considered something of a faux pas. Then again, no one else had either.

Worse, Tsarni's vivid description seemed to be taken from personal observation, from, in other words...real life. But that isn't possible. Tsarni had stated he hadn't been physically in the presence of his Boston relatives since December 2005. And Misha, if he existed, didn't show up on the scene until 2008 at the earliest.

Still, just a few days later, the entire family began chiming in. Misha anecdotes were flying fast & furious, and the nation's scribblers were busy uncritically scribbling down their every word.

Maybe their Twitter account got hacked again? No performance was nearly as masterful, however, as that of the Associated Press.

"Bomb suspect influenced by mysterious radical," reported the Associated Press.

"Tamerlan's relationship with Misha could be a clue in understanding the motives behind his religious transformation and, ultimately, the attack itself," reported the Associate Press. Only to take it all back in the very next line.

"Two U.S. officials say he had no tie to terrorist groups."

The AP's "story" about the mysterious "Misha" was 1145 words, long enough for an editor to squeeze in a caveat.

"It was not immediately clear whether the FBI has spoken to Misha or was attempting to," the national wire service reported. "Efforts over several days by The Associated Press to identify and interview Misha have been unsuccessful."

The big difference: when you do it, its conspiracy theory. When we do it, its informed speculation. In any other context, this might be seen as the rankest kind of "conspiracy theory." But, apparently, when the Associated Press does it, its news.

Then Uncle Ruslan made a clear mis-step.

"An uncle of the alleged bombers claims that Misha, an Armenian convert to Islam, had a huge influence on the elder brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Describing him as an "Armenia exorcist, Tsarni said, "Somehow he just took his brain."

Armenians are a deeply-rooted Christian community, which is proud of the fact that their country was the first in the world to adopt Christianity as state religion in 301 AD.

Moreover this is the week every year when they remember the Armenian Holocaust, when as many as 1,000,000 Armenians were slaughtered by Turkish Muslims.

In the large and close-knit Boston Armenian community, a red-bearded Armenian named Misha becoming a radicalized Muslim would stand out.

"I've never heard of him, nor has anyone that I know," Hilda Avedissian, executive director at the Armenian Cultural & Educational Centre.

So what if the guy was involved with biggest bank fraud in history?"For an Armenian to convert to Islam is like finding a unicorn in a field," Nerses Zurabyan, 32, an information technology director who lives in nearby Cambridge told USA Today.

The report reveals that the bomber's Uncle, made famous for his outspoken condemnation of his nephew's which aired repeatedly on international news networks, is a well-connected oil executive who at one point worked for a Halliburton shell company used as a front to obtain oil contracts from the Kazakh State.

Ruslon Tsarni was implicated in an investigation involving the laundering and theft of $6 billion. But everybody loves Uncle Ruslon. At least most of America's mainstream media does.

There has, to date, been no speculation at all about whether an uncle of the men suspected of the bombing who had been involved in international intrigue at the hightest levels, and who married the daughter of a top CIA official, might warrant a closer look.

It's enough, isn't it, to turn even reasonably rational adults into-gasp!-conspiracy theorists.

"News," someone once wrote, "is selection. And selection is always based on an ideology and agenda, which is something to remember next time you watch, listen or read the 'news.'"

Too true.

You really need to be following the writing of Sarah Kendzior this week as she rips the major media outlets for their utter incompetence in understanding the role of race, ethnicity and nationality in the Boston Marathon bombing. The fact is: we don't know what motivated these men. There will be a trial - and then we will know more. In the mean time, the American media has been throwing out every possible stereotype (indomitable mountain men!!!) and disjointed factoid from Wikipedia their interns could gather.

Now, Juan Cole isn't really "the media," and I normally enjoy his analysis of Middle East affairs quite a bit - but I was perplexed by his trying to use 19th century literature to explain Monday's actions in absence of thorough knowledge about the motive's of the alleged bombers.

"They were playing the nihilists Arkady and Bazarov in Turgenev's Fathers and Sons," explained scholar Juan Cole, citing an 1862 Russian novel to explain the motives of a criminal whose Twitter account was full of American rap lyrics. One does not recall such use of literary devices to ascertain the motives of less exotic perpetrators, but who knows? Perhaps some ambitious analyst is plumbing the works of Faulkner to shed light on that Mississippi Elvis impersonator who tried to send ricin to Obama.

Cole's connection to philosophical nihilism might be a stretch, but it's sure a lot better than those hyperventilating that one of the suspects was named after a brutal Mongol warlord!!! As my own son is named after the Norman conqueror who slaughtered Saxons to dominate England, I find this analysis unhelpful.

Why can we not just say, "I don't know. Nobody knows. This was horrible. Our justice system will tell us the rest?" That would be honest, calm and dignified - but this is the American media we are talking about.

Now, for those of you without backgrounds in intercultural analysis, maybe this doesn't seem too ridiculous. Let me illustrate how inaccurate such wild speculations would sound if it were about a culture you did understand.

Let us say that a guy got drunk at a bar outside of Mobile, Alabama, got in a fight with some dudes about University of Alabama versus Ole Miss college football, and ended up shooting them dead in the parking lot.

Terrible, right? Stupid, violent, too many damn guns, shame, right?

Now imagine that some foreigners slapped a crappy pseudo-anthropological analysis on top, full of weird historical references, non-sequitur references to the church, and misguided assumptions about ethnicity.

DATELINE APRIL 21, 2013

IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:

Yet another massacre has occurred in the historically war-torn region of the Southern United States - and so soon after the religious festival of Easter.

Brian McConkey, 27, a Christian fundamentalist militiaman living in the formerly occupied territory of Alabama, gunned down three men from an opposing tribe in the village square near Montgomery, the capitol, over a discussion that may have involved the rituals of the local football cult. In this region full of heavily-armed local warlords and radical Christian clerics, gun violence is part of the life of many.

Many of the militiamen here are ethnic Scots-Irish tribesmen, a famously indomitable mountain people who have killed civilized men - and each other - for centuries. It appears that the wars that started on the fields of Bannockburn and Stirling have come to America.

As the sun sets over the former Confederate States of America, one wonders - can peace ever come to this land?

Sometimes, people are in a cult of violence tied up with religious fundamentalism and nationalistic terror groups.

Sometimes, they are just savages who come from a place that might have churches and politically-motivated knuckleheads.

Being a real analyst of international affairs, you need to understand how subtle that difference can be.

MONTGOMERY, Alabama - Senate Republicans took advantage of a nearly empty Senate chamber to quickly approve a bill that would require the drug testing of welfare recipients with a history of drug use.

Republicans approved the contentious bill a few minutes after the Senate convened for the day. There were few Democrats in the chamber.Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh quickly moved to approve the bill using the Senate's last roll call from early this morning. No senator objected, and the bill automatically passed 22-10.Democrats rushed to the chamber and accused Republicans of acting in bad faith.

"There is no shame in this Legislature," Sen. Quinton Ross, D-Montgomery said.

Senators approved the bill that would require the drug testing of welfare recipients with drug convictions within the past five years. They would get a warning after their first positive test and would lose their personal benefits -- which is a small monetary amount -- after a second positive test, sponsor Sen. Trip Pittman, R-Montrose, said. Aftera third positive test, their children's benefits would have to go through a third party, but children would never lose their benefits."It is very fair. It is very reasonable," Pittman said.

"This is an attempt to get people off of drugs," he said.

The bill now moves to the House of Representatives.

I didn't make this video, just spreading the news:

An 84-year-old woman serving jail time on a theft charge in Texas allegedly tried to hire a hitman to kill one county prosecutor and hospitalize another, and to make it look similar to the Kaufman County prosecutor killings.

Dorothy Canfield, was charged with solicitation of capital murder and attempt to commit aggravated assault for plotting to kill Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Robert Freyer and put District Attorney Brett Ligon "in the hospital for two to three weeks," according to a statement from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

"Dorothy Canfield hoped to capitalize on the tragic murder of the Kaufman County District Attorney, his wife, and Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse to disrupt the prosecution of her theft charge in the most violent way possible," Ligon said in the statement.

"Criminals that plot to threaten and harm those in law enforcement and prosecution need to know that we are watching," he said.

The alleged plot comes after the fatal shooting of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia, whose bodies were found in their Forney, Texas, home March 30. Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse was gunned down in January outside the county courthouse.

I don't get the random shootings. I can understand shooting someone for a bizzare reason, but just walking into a mall, school whatever and just shooting people just seems crazy.

Not to bash America, I live here, but why so frequently here? I come from a place where a family may be gunned down, but there is some reason, however bizzare it may be. And yes it does happen elsewhere in other countries but, not as frequently and mostly with some sort of political, religious or clearly delusional reasons.

This is something I've been pondering for a while and have not been able to come to a conslusion. What say you?

From the article: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/04/12/2-injured-1-in-custody-after-shooting-at-va-mall/2078633/

The shooting happened in a community college branch at the New River Valley Mall, not far from Virginia Tech.

Investigators are trying to determine a motive and MacInnis' connections to the women who were shot. One was a part-time college employee.

Police said their identities would not be released "to protect their privacy."

One victim was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, but spokesman Eric Earnhart could not provide additional information on her identity or condition.

The other victim was taken by ambulance for treatment. She was in stable condition Friday afternoon but was transferred to another hospital to get specialized care, said Nancy May, a spokesman for Lewis Gale Hospital at Montgomery.

One of the women was shot through a window and suffered cuts to her face and was also hit in the hand.

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - An 18-year-old college student was charged Friday with shooting and wounding two women at a mall branch of a southwest Virginia community college before he was subdued, the city's police chief said.

Neil Allan MacInnis, of Christiansburg, faces two counts each of malicious wounding and using a firearm in the commission of a felony stemming from the shooting at the satellite campus of New River Community College at New River Valley Mall, Christiansburg Police Chief Mark Sisson said Friday night.

MacInnis, who was a student at the community college, was being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail.

Sisson said authorities were still trying to establish a motive and any connection between MacInnis and the victims, who were hospitalized following the shooting in this town of approximately 21,000, less than 10 miles from Blacksburg, home to Virginia Tech.

He said authorities are investigating online postings allegedly made by MacInnis prior to the Friday shooting but that he was unable to confirm whether those postings were legitimate.

"Today has been a very tough day for law enforcement officers involved, it's been a very tough day for victims and their families, it's been a very tough day for the suspect's family," Sisson said before reading a prepared statement at a Friday night news conference. He did not take any additional questions.

One of the victims was airlifted to the hospital and the other was taken by ambulance. Authorities did not identify the victims or provide updated information on their conditions.

The type of weapon, how it was obtained and how many shots were fired during the incident were not being released due to the ongoing investigation, Sisson said.

The police chief also said MacInnis participated in the Christiansburg Police Department Citizens Academy program in 2012. The 12-week course gives citizens an idea what happens at the department on a typical day, according to a press release seeking participants for the free program. Participants are able to get a chance to ride along with police officers, tour the officers' training facility and practice with firearms at the firing range, the news release said.

The shooting took place at about 2 p.m. The community college was closed Friday following the shooting and Saturday classes were cancelled, according to its website. The mall was set to reopen Saturday at noon.

Friday isn't usually a busy day at the school's mall campus, Ben Kramer, an activities counselor for the community college, told The Roanoke Times. Enrollment is roughly 1,500, and about a third of those students likely were on campus, he said.

Student Josh Brown said he was working on a computer near the classrooms when the shots were fired.

"I heard one gunshot, and I didn't know what it was. ... I saw people running out," he told the newspaper.

Brown then got up and ran out himself.

"I'll be scared to come back to school," he said as he started to cry. "What's wrong with people? Who would do something like this?"

Pushing an agenda much? Seems to be a trend

WTF America?: U.S Army Recruiter Kills Teen Recruit Then Himself

Maybe if the teen had a gun he could have saved himself and the Recruiter from Death.

(CNN) -- Police continued their investigation Tuesday into the shooting deaths of an Army recruiter and a 17-year-old girl in Maryland that appear to be "a murder-suicide," Montgomery County police said.

Staff Sgt. Adam Anthony Arndt, 31, knew Michelle Lynne Miller because he supervised her recruitment as she planned to enlist in the Army Reserves after graduating high school, police said.

Police found both of them dead Monday inside Arndt's apartment in Germantown while looking into a report of a missing juvenile possibly being at that location, police said. Police broke down the door because they were unable to make contact with anyone inside.

"Detectives now believe that Arndt shot Miller and then shot himself," police said in a statement. Miller was a senior at Rockville High School, police said.

Miller's father, Kevin, told CNN affiliate WJLA that he believes his daughter was lured to Arndt's residence after she received a call Sunday night from Arndt, who was threatening suicide.

His daughter raced to his home in her mother's car, her father said.

Miller had just been accepted at Arizona State University and enlisted to help pay the tuition, her father said. She wanted to be a psychotherapist, he said.

Arndt was apparently in violation of Army recruiting regulations because a recruiter isn't "allowed to have anyone who would be considered influenced by your position in the Army in your private home, in your dwelling place," said Kathleen Welker of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command.

When asked if the recruit's presence in Arndt's residence violated regulations, Welker stated: "I would say it appears that way. But it is being investigated by the police and by our Criminal Investigation Division."

A recruiter is also prohibited from having any sort of relationship with someone applying for military service, Welker said. Arndt worked at the recruitment center in Gaithersburg, Maryland, she said.

Psychiatrist Warned Police a Month Before Colorado Theater Shooting That James Holmes Was a Threat

TheBlaze.com

A psychiatrist who treated James Holmes told campus police a month before the Colorado theater attack that Holmes had homicidal thoughts and was a danger to the public, according to documents released Thursday.

Dr. Lynne Fenton, a psychiatrist at the University of Colorado, Denver, told police in June that the shooting suspect also threatened and intimidated her. It was more than a month before the July 20 attack at a movie theater that killed 12 and injured 70.

In the days after the attack, campus police said they had never had contact with Holmes, who was a graduate student at the university.

But campus police Officer Lynn Whitten told investigators after the shooting that Fenton had contacted her. Whitten said Fenton was following her legal requirement to report threats to authorities, according to a search warrant affidavit.

"Dr. Fenton advised that through her contact with James Holmes she was reporting, per her requirement, his danger to the public due to homicidal statements he had made," the affidavit said.

Whitten added that Fenton said she began to receive threatening text messages from Holmes after he stopped seeing her for counseling, the documents said.

Whitten did not immediately respond to messages left at her home and office. University spokeswoman Jacque Montgomery said she could not comment because the school had not reviewed the court records.

The indication that a psychiatrist had called Holmes a danger to the public gave momentum to Democratic state lawmakers' plans to introduce legislation to further restrict mentally ill people from buying guns. State Rep. Beth McCann initially cited the information Thursday as a reason she would introduce a bill as soon as Friday, but quickly backed off and said no date has been set.

The theater massacre already helped inspire a new state ban on large-capacity firearm magazines.

Prosecutors have suggested Holmes was angry at the failure of a once promising academic career, and had stockpiled weapons, ammunition, tear gas grenades and body armor. Chief Deputy District Attorney Karen Pearson said Holmes failed a key oral exam in June, was banned from campus and began to voluntarily withdraw from the school.

Holmes last week offered to plead guilty in the attacks. Prosecutors rejected that offer and announced Monday they would seek the death penalty.

The new details were in previously sealed documents that the new judge overseeing the case ordered released Thursday. Media organizations, including The Associated Press, had argued that a "wealth of information already made public in the proceedings thus far," so there was no basis for the documents to remain sealed.

The document that included the threats to the psychiatrist was filed to obtain the contents of a package Holmes sent to her before the attack. That package included a notebook that the newly released documents describe as like a "journal."

The package was dated July 12 - eight days before the massacre - but was found four days after the attack, in the university mail room. It included a note with an "infinity design" and burnt $20 bills.

Other court documents described Holmes' behavior after police found him, still clad in ballistic gear, leaving the theater after the attack. After Holmes' arrest, one officer asked if anyone was with him.

Holmes, who was carrying $280 in cash and credit cards, replied: "It's just me."

He warned detectives that his apartment had booby-traps, which took days for authorities to disarm. When police informed Holmes of his rights to an attorney, he asked for one, ending their interview with him.

The records show that police collected more than 100 items of evidence from the apartment, including included 50 cans and bottles of beer, a Batman mask, paper shooting targets and prescription medications to treat anxiety and depression. Holmes' attorneys have said he is mentally ill.

The documents - including arrest and search warrant affidavits - were unsealed Thursday by District Judge Carlos Samour, who took over this week after the previous judge, who had sealed the documents, removed himself.

Judge William Sylvester had said prosecutors' decision to seek the death penalty against Holmes meant the case would take up so much time that he couldn't carry out his administrative duties as chief judge of a busy four-county district.

Both prosecutors and defense attorneys had raised concerns about releasing the documents. Prosecutors said they were worried about the privacy of victims and witnesses if the records were released. Attorneys for Holmes said they didn't want to hurt his chances for a fair trial.

Sylvester had said he was reluctant to release the documents before the preliminary hearing, when prosecutors laid out evidence on whether Holmes could be brought to trial. After that hearing occurred in January, Samour said lawyers failed to show that releasing the records would cause any harm, or that keeping the documents sealed would prevent any harm.
