Obama Meets In Oval Office With Illegal Aliens, refuses to meet border agents

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met in the Oval Office on Tuesday with three people who are in the country in violation of U.S. immigration laws but who have received "deferred action" allowing them to stay in the country under the terms of a "memorandum" issued unilaterally last year by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

While conceding that she had no legal authority to change the "immigration status" of illegal aliens or provide them with a "pathway to citizenship," Napolitano instructed the top officials at Customs and Border Protection, Citizenship and Immigration Services, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to use what she called "prosecutorial discretion" in not enforcing the immigration laws against certain classes of immigration lawbreakers.

These included illegal aliens who arrived in the United States before their sixteenth birthday, had graduated from high school or served in the military, had not been convicted of "significant" or "multiple" misdemeanors, and had not yet turned thirty.

Before Napolitano issued this unilateral order allowing the illegal aliens to remain in the country in violation of the law, President Obama's allies in Congress had failed to secure passage of the Dream Act, which would have allowed such persons to became legal residents in the United States.

In all, Obama and Biden met on Tuesday with eight people who are advocating immigration reform, according to White House readout of the meeting. The White House readout listed three of those as having received "deferred action." Most others were legally in the United States with relatives who were illegal aliens.

A White House blog entry on the meeting included an official White House photograph of it that carried a caption describing some of the attendees as people "who have received Deferred Action and U.S. citizen family members of undocumented immigrants."

"At the meeting, the president reiterated his commitment to passing a bipartisan, commonsense immigration reform bill this year," said the White House readout of the meeting. "He made clear that while the current bill is not perfect, it does represent an important step towards the broad principles that need to be part of any immigration reform package."

On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee sent an immigration bill to the full Senate. It includes what its supporters call a "pathway to citizenship," and what its opponents call "amnesty."

"The President and the Vice President thanked participants for their leadership, courage and on-going efforts to move immigration reform legislation forward," said the White House statement about the president's Tuesday meeting.
"The Dreamers shared how their lives have been positively affected by the deferred action process and emphasized that they and their families need a permanent solution that will allow them to fully contribute to the country they call home."

The White House listed the following people as having participated:

- "Angie Kim. Angie is a South Korean immigrant who resides in New York, New York; she received deferred action."

- "Kevin Lee. Kevin is a South Korean immigrant who received deferred action. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Both of his parents are undocumented."

- "Justino Mora. Justino received deferred action; he currently resides in Los Angeles, California."

- "Diana Colin. Diana is a legal permanent resident who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. One of her brothers received deferred action."

- "Kate Kahan, Legislative Director, Center for Community Change. Kate is the Legislative Director for the Center for Community Change, a national social justice organization that is a member of the Alliance for Citizenship coalition in support of commonsense immigration reform."

- "Miguel Leal. Miguel is a U.S. citizen who resides in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He is an Iraq war veteran. Miguel is an immigrant from Cuba; his wife in undocumented."

- "Mehdi Mahraoui. Mehdi came to the United States from Morocco when he was 7 years old. He is a legal permanent resident and lives in New York, New York. His parents and his older sister remain undocumented."

- "Melissa McGuire-Maniau. Melissa's husband is an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. Melissa is a U.S. veteran; she and her husband reside in Winter Park, Florida."

Bob Dane, spokesman for the Federation of Americans for Immigration Reform, said this shows disrespect for the law from the president who swore to uphold the laws of the United States.

"It's staged to reinforce the one message that for this president is unambiguous - violating immigration laws now, in and of themselves, is just entirely inconsequential," Dane told CNSNews.com.

"The laws will not be enforced, and the public just needs to get used to it. Illegal aliens are here. They're proud. They're not going anywhere, and they can sit and stand anywhere they want, including the United States Capitol and the White House, and this president will bend the laws to suit their circumstances, and his political needs, with no regard whatsoever for American workers and taxpayers," he added.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-meets-oval-office-illegal-aliens

The union of law enforcement officers charged with protecting our nation's borders, the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, has been highly critical of the program because it makes their jobs almost impossible to perform. But Obama has refused to meet with them on that issue, or the immigration bill currently in the Senate.

On Thursday, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., co-signed a letter to Obama asking him to meet with the ICE officers.

"To be effective any immigration reform bill must heed the warnings from our federal immigration agents," the letter reads. "Unfortunately, far from being included in the process, ICE officers have been shut out and have even had their day-to-day operations handcuffed by DHS officials to the point of being unable to carry out their sworn duties. These brave whistleblowers have been left with no other option but to file a lawsuit in federal court to fight the abuse of power from DHS leadership."

Bank massacre: The killer got a medal in the past after he shot and killed a terrorist

Former co-workers, neighbors relate of disturbing signs from Itamar Alon who in 2002 awarded medal for bravery after managed to stop a Palestinian terror attack in Beersheba, and today massacered four people in Beersheba bank, one of them a young mother, and later killed himself -

In February 2002, two Palestiniians from the Hamas Az el-Din el Qassam brigades opened fire in all directions at the entrence of the southern district command in Beersheba . They killed and injured several soldiers, including 2 young soldier females who were shot to death.

Itamar Alon, a security officer in the south, happened to be nearby. He ran to the scene, shot one of the attackers and brought him down. His actions saw him awarded the Beersheba bravery medal, which he received from the previous mayor Yaakov Terner. Alon is also the man who on Monday perpetrated a massacre at a Beersheba branch of Bank Hapoalim that claimed the lives of four people before turning the gun on himself after his ATM card was blocked due to a debt.

Alon, who was in his 40s, started working as a security guard in Beersheba after he was discharged from military service. About year after the incident that awarded him the medal, complaints started to pour in against his interpersonal skills and his conduct at the workplace. A co-worker said he showed little consideration for his colleagues, was extremely inflexible in his positions and given to aggression.

The watermark event leading up to his termination came as he appeared at a local school on Purim donning a faux suicide belt. A teacher who spotted the unorthodox costume argued with Alon, and the conversation escalated to threats. He was sacked from his job following the incident and remained unemployed thereafter.

He filed an appeal against unlawful termination; however a judge ruled that his poor people skills warranted a sacking.

The house where he lived with his parents, spending most of his days idly sitting on the balcony, is near the site of the carnage. His neighbors register disbelief at his actions saying, however, that he was not without peculiarities.

One neighbor said Alon "was a strange person, a real weirdo. You never knew what to expect of him." Another said "he was a nice guy. He had a lovely singing voice and he used to sing on the balcony every morning. I knew he wasn't working but I didn't know he was in financial trouble."

Initial reports said Alon sought to settle a NIS 6,000 debt at the bank this morning. After bank clerks refused to meet his demands, he returned to the offices to carry out the carnage which ended only with his own death.

Four persons, including the Bank manager, his deputy and a female costumer were killed in the incident, which at first was reported to be a heist. After he released a woman he held as a hostage, Alon put an end to his life.

* Miriam Cohen, an employee of Hapoalim Bank branch in Beersheba, was held hostage by city resident Itamar Alon for over an hour after he murdered four people at around noon Monday, apparently after the bank refused to settle over a debt.

"I'll show you, like you didn't give me, now I'll show you," Cohen described how the shooter kept repeating in an interview to channels 2 and 10.

Describing her ordeal, Cohen said the shooter warned her to stay silent else he will shoot her. "A second later the gun was drawn in my face," she recounted.

Locked in the toilet with the shooter, Cohen was sure she would not escape with her life. "Thank God, it was a miracle," she said. After an hour, Alon told her to turn around with her face to the wall. "I said 'that's it, this is the end of me,' and then I lowered my head and didn't look at him and he put the gun in his mouth, I couldn't see, but I heard a shot."

She then ran out of the bank and was taken by the police.

An old trapper and his dog hunt together in the Taiga

An old Russian trapper talking about his dogs. His working dogs (for hunting) and those he's love and lost.

He describes losing his favorite dog to a bear - I couldn't imagine a bear taking one of mine, though I did once see my beloved cat Bob II picked up off the roof by a Bald Eagle many years ago. I was sad for him, I love my pets, but what a glorious way to go. But I digress

Dog owners everywhere, I'm sure, can relate. But for these men, dogs are not just merely companions. They are their co-workers, as well as best friend on their long winter trapping expeditions into the harsh Russian winter.

They have an eye out with every new brood for individuals with certain traits which make them invaluable in the harsh environment of Russia's vast and largely unpopulated Taiga region.

This is a short chip from Werner Herzog 's excellent documentary ' Happy People: A Year in the Taiga .'

The hunt for the sable in the hollow log starts at 2:01, but the stuff that comes before that is worth watching and listening to, which is why I left it in. The dog dispatches the sable at 3:42, making his owner very proud and his himself very happy.

As much as I envy their lifestyle, I genuinely believe that I wouldn't be able to tough it out. I would love to give some sort of similar independent living some time, though, if only for a week or two.

British sisters on aid trip are kidnapped and raped in front of their father after being stopped at Libyan checkpoint

: Two women were abducted on the outskirts of Benghazi en route to Gaza
:Taken by men in military uniforms to an isolated farm along with their father
:Witnesses said sisters, of Pakistani origin, wearing 'Free Palestine' t-shirts
:Officials said four suspects had been arrested and are tracing a fifth person
:Deputy Prime Minister Awad al-Barassi said father witnessed the rape
:Libyan Interior Ministry blamed the incident on 'outlaws' and illicit checkpoint

Two British women aid workers were kidnapped and raped in front of their father after being stopped at an unofficial checkpoint in Libya.

The sisters were abducted when their vehicle was stopped on the outskirts of the eastern city of Benghazi.

They were taken by men in military uniforms to an isolated farm and subjected to a horrific sex attack in front of their father.

Witnesses said the young women, both Pakistan-born British citizens, were wearing veils and Free Palestine T-shirts. Libyan officials said four suspects have been arrested and security forces are trying to trace a fifth.

It was unclear whether they were part of the 'revolutionary brigades' that serve under the country's security ministries or outlaw militia.

Deputy prime minister Awad al-Barassi said the sisters were in a 'very bad shape' after the horrific attack, which happened on Tuesday. Last night they were preparing to fly home to the UK.

He said the women were part of an ten-vehicle aid convoy trying to reach the Gaza Strip with medical supplies. Organised by IHH, a Turkish humanitarian relief organisation, the aid mission left Britain on February 25 but became stuck in Libya when Egyptian border guards refused to let the convoy cross into Egypt.

The family were on a bus on their way to Benghazi's Benina airport when they were stopped at the unofficial checkpoint by armed young men in military uniforms.

Mr al-Barassi said the women and their father were kidnapped, and the man witnessed his daughters' rape.

He said he visited the victims and met their father at a Benghazi hospital to apologise on behalf of the Libyan people and government. He described the family as being in a 'very bad psychological state'.

There were reports that two other members of the aid group were also assaulted by a different armed group and that two others are missing.

The remaining members of the aid convoy travelled to the Turkish consulate in Benghazi for safety

Mr al-Barassi said those involved in the attack would stand trial soon.

The attack highlights how Libya remains a dangerous place for foreigners in the aftermath of the overthrow of the Gaddafi regime.

Hundreds of heavily armed militia, many with links to criminal gangs, continue to operate freely across the country.

Married Mountie fights recall from plush New York posting over affair with co-worker

Mounties don't like the new rules. We haven't heard much about the RCMP's sexual-harassment problems lately but that doesn't mean the issue has gone away.

More of the Mounties' dirty laundry is being aired this week thanks to an Ottawa Citizen report about a senior officer fighting the penalty imposed on him in a code of conduct investigation over an affair with a civilian co-worker five years ago.

Superintendent Paul Young, who's listed as a police adviser in Canada's Permanent Mission to the United Nations , is taking his bosses to court over their decision to recall him from the New York post.

Young contends the penalty - loss of his prestigious posting in the Big Apple - is disproportionate to the infraction, especially compared with lighter sanctions imposed on other Mounties in what appear to be more egregious cases.

His argument, in essence, seems to be, why are you picking on me?

Canada's Mounties say they will root out sexual harassment ]

"I could easily name quite a few serving senior officers of the RCMP who have engaged in intimate sexual relationships with co-workers and/or colleagues from other federal departments and who were never subjected to a Code of Conduct investigation, let alone a suspension," Young's Ottawa lawyer, Louise Morel, wrote in a letter to the RCMP filed as part of the case in the Federal Court, the Citizen reported.

The letter to Young's superior, Supt. Barbara Fleury, director general of international policing, lists several cases where RCMP officers received lesser penalties for sexual misconduct.

The list included an Alberta officer who, when driving a civilian woman, "unbuttoned his shirt and displayed his nipple rings. He then engaged in inappropriate conduct and sexual touching with the female," the Citizen said. The Mountie also sent the woman nude photos of himself. He was reprimanded and docked 10 days pay.

Another Alberta Mountie also got off with a reprimand and lost four days pay for having sex with another officer while in uniform and in a marked police vehicle, according to Morel's list.

Morel may be right, but looking at the wider context and timing of this case might offer a clue as to why the RCMP brass dropped the hammer on Young.

The force has been wrestling with a huge image problem over its handling of sexual harassment cases. Dozens of women, including present and former female Mounties, have joined a class-action lawsuit against the RCMP over what's seen as a systemic problem within the organization's culture.

Commissioner Bob Paulson, who took over as the top Mountie in 2011, promised publicly to root out the bad apples and reform the internal disciplinary process that often ended in a wrist slap for offenders.

So when a complaint was filed last year against Young, a high-ranking Mountie, you have to wonder if the penalty he received was aimed at sending a message.

Young's paramour was an intelligence analyst who worked with him on the Afghanistan desk at RCMP headquarters in Ottawa, the Citizen said, citing a statement Young submitted during the disciplinary process.

The 31-year RCMP veteran had served in Kabul as a police adviser in 2008 and was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder related to his experiences, including a bomb that went off outside his office.

He was having trouble reconnecting with his family and the co-worker had been a "friendly ear," Young said. They began a casual affair that was limited to four encounters, he said. She did not report to him and he had no control over her work.

B.C. Mountie Karen Katz launches new sexual harassment lawsuit against the RCMP ]

Young appears to suggest the woman was the aggressor, pursuing the relationship "while I was trying to concentrate on repairing a broken 25-year marriage."

Young claimed the affair ended on good terms but last year the woman filed a complaint against him, triggering the code of conduct investigation, the Citizen reported.

Through his lawyer, Young is arguing in court that the recall from the three-year New York posting that began in 2011 would pose an undue hardship because it would uproot his family. His wife now has a job there and his son is in his final year of high school.

That may be true, but Paulson may want to signal to his fellow officers, and the Canadian public, that times really have changed. An offence that might have earned a finger-wagging reprimand a few years ago now will have real consequences.

When will just plain old harassment that precedes sexual harassment be dealt with ?

Supersized Labor: Detroit Sees Largest Fast-Food Strike in U.S. History

When Michigan's Republican Governor Rick Snyder signed controversial "right-to-work" legislation last December, it was a significant policy defeat for the American labor movement. But the symbolism of anti-union laws passing in Michigan was even more potent. In 1936, United Auto Workers members occupied a General Motors factory in Flint, MI, beginning what came to be known as the Flint Sit-Down Strike. The action led to the organizing of the automotive industry and helped spur the modern labor movement in the United States.

Today, workers are striking in Michigan once again, but the picket line isn't in front of an automotive factory. Following surprise strikes in New York, Chicago and, earlier this week, St. Louis, fast-food workers across Detroit walked off the job today, demanding the right to form a union and a base-pay rate of $15 per hour.

In the introduction to a petition on detroit15.org , a group involved in organizing the walkout, the impetus for the strike is laid out in more detail

Our employers-thriving corporations like McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Dollar Tree, Little Caesar's, Domino's, Long John Silver's and others-are making billions of dollars, but they pay us poverty wages as we struggle with our coworkers to support our families and cover our basic needs.

More than 400 workers have walked off the job today, making the Detroit action the largest fast-food strike in American history. Furthermore, this is the first strike to take place in a "right-to-work" state.

With their low pay and limited benefits , fast-food jobs are by no means ideal employment. And while working for minimum wage and no healthcare may be perfect for the proverbial burger-flipping high school student, that clich'ed notion of a fast-food employee is increasingly dated. The median age of fast-food workers is 28, and that number skews four years older for women, who make up two-thirds of the workforce. Rent, utilities, car payments, groceries, childcare and other financial responsibilities have to be covered with an annual average annual salary of just $18,810.

The growing momentum of these fast-food strikes suggests that a new approach to labor actions may be gaining traction and proving successful. Reporting on the Detroit strike for The Nation , Josh Eidelson writes,

Along with a shared significant supporter-SEIU-the campaigns in New York, Chicago, St. Louis and Detroit have apparent strategies in common. Rather than waiting until they've built support from a majority of a store's or company's workers, they stage actions by a minority of the workforce designed to inspire their co-workers. Rather than publicly identifying the campaign and its organizers with a single international union, these union-funded efforts turn to allied community groups to spearhead organizing. Rather than training all their resources on a single company, they organize against all of the industry's players at once.

This strike may be taking place in Michigan, but the tactics couldn't be more different than those of the UAW.

It's too early to determine the successes or failures of today's work stoppage, but Detroit's union culture appears to be giving the strikers a boost: Organizers are reporting that replacement workers called in to reopen one McDonald's location refused to cross the picket line and joined the strike instead.

Detroit @ mcdonalds called in for workers to replace strikers. Replacements arrived & saw strikers.

'GAL'VANIZED: ABC News producer Don Ennis - a married father of three - shows his transition to Dawn on his Facebook timeline.

Newsman becomes a newswomanBy TARA PALMERI Last Updated: 10:22 AM, May 8, 2013 Posted: 1:57 AM, May 8, 2013
Top ABC News editor Don Ennis walked into his Manhattan office on Friday in a "little black dress" and a brunette bobbed wig and announced to colleagues that from now on, he would like to be known as Dawn.

The 49-year-old father of three said he's splitting from his wife of 17 years to become a woman, or Dawn Stacey Ennis, as she is now known on her governmental records.

"Today I begin anew," she wrote on her Facebook timeline, where she debuted a flirty new profile picture.

"Please understand: This is not a game of dress-up, or make-believe. It is my affirmation of who I now am and what I must do to be happy, in response to a soul-crushing secret that my wife and I have been dealing with for more than seven years, mostly in secret."

Ennis said she suffers from an "unusual hormonal imbalance," and blames her mother, who fed her female hormones as a child to prolong a commercial acting career. The hormones made the little boy look and sound young, but Ennis said she eventually developed breasts.

Doctors can't explain or remedy her condition, and she's been undergoing hormone-replacement therapy to maintain "mysteriously a more female than male body."

"I have a rare medical condition - nothing deadly or infectious - but it has resulted in an unusual hormonal imbalance, " she said.

"One so profound that I don't resemble the man you first met 10 years ago."

She hasn't undergone a surgical sex change, but says her marriage is "wrecked" and her personality and way of thinking have changed.

The day after she announced her decision to colleagues, she left her wife, Wendy, and moved out of the home they shared with their three young children.

"Despite the heartbreak, has encouraged me to start this new life that we both believe better fits who I now am," Ennis wrote on Facebook.

"Trust me, this is NOT the midlife crisis I was counting on - I'd much prefer to have bought a sports car.

"Even an affair, I think, would have been something we might have recovered from.

The balding journalist, who has worked at the network for 10 years, admits that her confession might be a bombshell.

"I'm sure if you had to pick someone we know in common who might be transitioning from male to female, I'm guessing I would not even crack the top ten," she added.

But to toast the big switch, she brought a cake and glitter in to work on Friday. Co-workers left flowers on her desk, and ABC News President Ben Sherwood wrote her a note of support. Ennis is currently shopping a book deal.

"I'm overwhelmed by the strong support I've received from my coworkers, and I'm looking forward to telling my story when I'm ready," Ennis said in a statement.

N.J. Senate committee approves slate of gun control bills

After about four hours of sometimes raucous testimony, the state Senate Law and Public Safety Committee has approved seven new gun control measures.

"It's a matter of us all working together to ensure the safety and well-being of our families, our neighbors and our co-workers," said Senate President Stephen Sweeney (D-Gloucester), who sponsored many of the measures.

But opposition was fierce from gun rights advocates, who packed the hearings and sometimes shouted down proponents of gun control.

"If you pass these laws that make me a criminal by not registering my guns, I will not register them," said gun owner Glenn Darwell of Forked River. "If you make me a criminal I will stand once more and fulfill the constitution. If my blood is in the street it's in your hands."

The "centerpiece" bill ( S2723 ) would overhaul the current system of IDs to buy firearms, encoding them onto driver's license and putting in place a system to allow for instant background checks every time someone buys a gun. Among other things, it would also require new gun owners to undergo firearms training.

The committee voted 3-1 to approve it, sending it on to the Senate Budget Committee before it gets a vote in the full Senate.

Other bills would create a school security task force ( S2724 ), disqualify those on the federal terrorism watch list from buying guns ( S2485 ), declare violence a "public health crisis" ( S2430 ), establish a 90-day window for people to turn in illegal guns ( S2722 ), establish a school security task force ( S2724 ) and require the state submit records of involuntary mental health commitment to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

The three Democrats on the committee voted yes on all the bills. The one Republican, state Sen. Christopher "Kip" Bateman (R-Somerset), voted against the centerpiece bill and the school security task force, and abstained on the 90-day window.

The committee plans another hearing on 10 more bills for Thursday, during which they'll consider banning the .50 caliber Barrett rifle ( A3659 ), toughening penalties for gun trafficking ( S2719 ) and barring state pension funds from investing in companies that manufacture or import assault rifles for civilian use ( A3668 ).

While proponents of gun control said they generally liked the bills, most said they were disappointed that the Senate does not plan to move legislation the Assembly passed in March to further restrict the size of ammunition magazines, from 15 to 10.

Marcia Marley, president of BlueWave New Jersey - a liberal advocacy group - handed the senators a petition with 1,700 signatures calling for the reduction.

"It is not complete," Marley said. "It is a good start but it needs to be complete by adding the 10 round limit for magazines that our citizens want and have demanded."

As the hearing progressed, gun rights advocates grew more frustrated. Committee Chairman Donald Norcross (D-Camden) asked James Kaleda, 36, to keep his comments relevant to one of the bills being heard. "I am on the bill. And I will be heard," Kaleda said.

"You're out of order," Norcross said.

"This hearing's out of order," Kaleda replied.

Norcross then told Kaleda to leave. He wouldn't. So he was escorted out by state troopers.

At the end of the four-hour hearing, angry that Norcross would not allow more testimony, the gun rights advocates stood for a spontaneous rendition of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mainstream Media Runs Spin on the Muslim Rape Gangs

The recent report about yet another grotesque Muslim child rape gang in Britain has provoked a flurry of pro-Muslim spin from the British media establishment. It emerged during this scandal that some of the girls involved had made complaints to the police about what was being done to them (being gang-raped, sexually tortured and coerced into prostitution) and the police did nothing. Social workers also knew what was going on and did nothing. The police and social workers have since apologised for failing to take action. But there's another group that should be hanging their heads in shame today: journalists.

The Muslim rape gangs were known about in the affected areas long before the story broke in the national press. It was headline news in local papers in places like Yorkshire. Indeed, some of the newspapers were running campaigns demanding that police prosecute these crimes! It is standard practice for the major news outlets in London to scan the regional newspapers to see if there are any stories worth picking up. So they must have known about these goings-on, and chosen not to report them, for about a decade before the story finally surfaced after it could no longer be repressed. Britain's journalists, social workers and police should be in the dock alongside the Muslim rapists. But they won't be.

And now that their favourite perpetrators have been exposed and convicted, they are running spin to protect them.

The Telegraph, in a blog post that shamefully has had the comments turned off (seems to be standard practice on the Telegraph with any post related to Muslims/the EDL/Jews these days), contrives to blame Nick Griffin for the cover-up. Nick Griffin (leader of the British National Party) was one of the very few public figures who spoke about this problem long before it was publicly acknowledged. Admittedly, he did it only behind closed doors, no doubt to avoid prosecution. But he was secretly filmed by the BBC and prosecuted anyway for incitement to racial hatred. He only got off because Muslims aren't a race. Then shortly afterwards the government extended the incitement laws to cover religion too.

But now this pitiful coward in the Telegraph blames Nick Griffin for having issued a warning about the rape gang problem all those years before.
--
There's one more figure who played an important role in this saga. As long ago as 2001, Nick Griffin, the leader of the BNP, was making claims about Asian grooming gangs. In 2004 he repeated these allegations in a speech clandestinely recorded by the BBC for a TV documentary, Secret Agent. He was arrested and charged with inciting racial hatred.

Which is exactly what he was doing, of course. He was making his allegations to stir up ethnic strife. Right-thinking people, aware of the BNP's record as liars, presumed that these stories were just racist demagoguery. No doubt Griffin feels vindicated today. He has no right to: thanks in part to his thuggish intervention, the scandals were ignored - and the abuse continued.
--
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/seanthomas/100217075/oxford-gang-rape-did-people-ignore-this-sort-of-scandal-because-racist-nick-griffin-was-the-first-to-mention-them/

Now that it can longer cover up the truth about its favourite minority, the Guardian moves quickly to do some spin for them. "Is child grooming and sexual abuse a race issue?" it says, sounding brave. Of course its answer to that question is no. It begins by acknowledging that both negroes and Asians are grossly represented in the statistics compared to their share of the population.
--
A 2011 study by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre looked at the 2,379 potential offenders caught grooming girls since 2008. Of 940 suspects whose race could be identified, 26% were Asian, 38% were white and 32% were recorded as unknown. Asians are roughly 7% of the population.

A report for the children's commissioner in 2012 found there were 1,514 perpetrators. Of these, 545 were white, 415 were Asian and 244 were black. The ethnicity of 21% of perpetrators was not recorded. Attempts to analyse the Asian figure further runs into problems. Just 35 of the 415 Asians are recorded as having Pakistani heritage and thus highly likely to be Muslim, and only five are recorded as being from a Bangladeshi background. The heritage of 366 of the Asian group is not stated in those figures.
--
But it concludes that "Asians" are over-represented because of their occupational profile.
--
"However, the view in different parts of law enforcement is that it is wrong to take these figures and cases and say the race or religion of the perpetrator leads to them committing these crimes.

A more credible link, says one senior source involved in bringing the criminals to justice, are their occupations. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said the demography of certain areas and the makeup of the night-time economy explained the over-representation of Asian offenders.

The source said: "Young vulnerable girls migrate to the night-time economy, where they come across taxi drivers and people working in takeaways, who are more likely to be Asian. It is better to focus on the professions of offenders, not their race or religion."
--
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/may/14/child-grooming-sexual-abuse-race

It also cites the abuse of an "Asian" girl by one of the gangs as proof that it is not a race issue. Of course, they are actually correct. It's not a race issue. It's a religion issue. Islam is a religion that specifically sanctions the sexual enslavement of non-Muslim females and its supposed founder, the so-called prophet Mohammed, is described in the standard Muslim texts as having kept slaves, including sexual slaves.

Since Muslim morality is defined by the reported actions of this so-called "Perfect Man", it should hardly be surprising that his followers today have an above-average tendency to engage in these activities. But that is a possibility that the establishment media dare not even hint at. Even they put on their fake bravado and broach the race issue, the religion issue is never mentioned. I would hazard a guess that the "Asian" victim mentioned was Sikh or Hindu, rather than Muslim, but that's information that I don't think we'll be getting from the establishment media any time soon.

How absurd is it to say that there are people who have an ethical code that sanctions sexual enslavement of outgroup members and then they in fact engage in the sexual enslavement of outgroup members, but somehow the two facts are completely unrelated? If Nazis had an ideology that sanctioned the killing of Jews, then went around actually killing Jews, somehow I don't think we'd be hearing any spiel about "a tiny minority" of Nazis and their ideology magically being disconnected from their actions.

UK jobless total rises again - up 15,000 to 2.52m

Unemployment has increased by 15,000 to 2.52 million, while total pay growth has fallen to its lowest level in four years.

It is the third quarterly increase in a row in the jobless total.

The number of people in work fell by 43,000 in the latest quarter to March, to 29.7 million, the biggest fall since autumn 2011.

Today's data from the Office for National Statistics revealed that annual wage growth for the three-month period was 0.4 per cent, a fall of 0.4 per cent on the previous quarter, and lagging well behind inflation.

The figure for March alone showed a fall in pay of 0.4 per cent, the first negative since March 2009.

Meanwhile, average earnings excluding bonuses rose by 0.8 per cent, the lowest rise since records began in 2001.

The figures also revealed that 902,000 people had been out of work for more than a year, a 23,000 increase on the three months to December.

The number of unemployed 16 to 24-year-olds fell by 17,000 to 958,000.

The number of people classed as economically inactive, including students, people on long-term sick leave and those who have given up looking for work, rose by 47,000 to nine million.

Despite today's increase in unemployment, the total is 92,000 lower than a year ago.

Minister for Employment Mark Hoban said: "We are seeing continuing falls in the number of people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance which is positive. Whilst there has been a disappointing increase in the headline rate of unemployment, we shouldn't forget the progress we are making.

"We are not complacent. To win the global race we need to do all that we can to help people achieve their aspiration to look after themselves and their families."

But Martin Beck, UK economist at Capital Economics, said: "Following recent positive news on the economy, today's UK labour market data provides something of a reality check.

"There was a triple whammy of bad news, with employment in the three months to March down by 43,000 and unemployment up by 15,000.

Meanwhile, the squeeze on real earnings has intensified.

"At least there was one piece of good news, with unemployment on the claimant count measure seeing a further drop in April, down by 7,300.

"But with further significant public sector job losses in the pipeline and firms likely to seek to restore productivity by shedding workers, it may not be long before even this narrower measure of unemployment starts to rise too."

Howard Archer of IHS Global Insight, said it was a "mixed" picture, adding that he expected unemployment to rise modestly over the year.

He said: "Earnings growth remains extremely weak, which is hitting consumers' purchasing power appreciably especially as consumer price inflation has moved back up to 2.8 per cent.

"While the economy has recently shown welcome signs of improvement, a serious concern for growth prospects is that consumer spending will be held back by low earnings and softer employment."

Liam Byrne, Labour's shadow work and pensions secretary, said: "We now have definitive proof the Government has simply failed to get Britain back to work."

He said the Government had done nothing in the Queen's Speech to help solve the "jobs crisis" and instead Tory MPs were bickering over Europe.

"Families struggling for work will be asking quite simply, what planet are these people on?"

TUC general secretary Frances O'Grady said: "These jobs figures are troubling. There are now more people out of work today than when the coalition took office three years ago.

"Those in work are taking a hammering in their pay packets with wage growth down to just 0.4 per cent, while prices rise far more quickly.

"It's no wonder the economy is struggling when people in work are getting poorer every month."
