Milovic Dragisa, mayor of Serbian municipality Zvevcan, said at the protest that the Belgrade negotiating team had decided for the territory's Serbs without consultation. Speakers from the podium called for a referendum, while others called for the resignation of President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic. The protest which began at 12.00 started with the Serbian national anthem. Protesters held the national flag of Serbia and held banners and placards reading "We do not want Kosovo's seal", "No to Brussels agreement" and "We don't want Kosovan press" .
