new video relased of grandma taken down by taser gun
AUSTIN, TX - New video shows a grandmother being taser by a police officer. The different perspective may be an important factor in her $42,000 settlement.
Dash cam video was released earlier this year, the new video is from a camera located on the taser gun.
73-year-old Kathryn Winkfein was pulled over for speeding in May. She was driving 60 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone. She refused to sign her ticket.
In the video, you can hear Winkfein refusing to comply with Travis County Deputy Constable Christ Bieze. That's when the confrontation gets heated and Bieze gives Winkfein a verbal warning. Winkfein dared the deputy to use the taser on her and tried to get back into her car. That's when you see Winkfein being tased for the first time.
She was tased a second time when she tried to roll over on the ground.
Her original settlement offer was for a $175,000. Winkfein still faces a charge of resisting arrest.
