@PocoBueno I met someone who had read every book on the topic, consulted to historians on the topic and eventually wrote his own book. The Zulus were doomed and could never finally win.

Asides from colours and the placement of the water bottle and rations this is pretty much the same rig as I was trained in with in post-Vietnam war Australia.
We had a spider harness with ammo and water at the front and a small bum-pack at the back for rations and other essentials.

Beautiful color scheme but the red color shouts "aim at me". The French wore red too during or before WW1. The cloth was dyed with madder.
